People screwing with the ratings in order to bump Misty Peak- NOT COOL
If you look at tea rating page today, you’ll notice that the top teas have changed drastically. Now the top 4 teas are all Misty Peak teas an these accounts have all popped up within the last 8 hours or so:

http://steepster.com/americantea

They’re rating Misty Peak teas at 100 and then going through and rating other company’s teas at a 1. They’ve also posted a lot of ratings without reviews so they don’t show up. Coincidence? I think not.
They’ve just guaranteed I’ll never purchase a Misty Peak tea.
Update: Misty Peak Teas comments on this phenomenon:
Hello everyone,
This is absolutely ridiculous and is not myself or anyone that I know.
I have spent years on here trying to give away samples or run a completely honest and transparent business, the last thing I would do is rig the website or post faulty reviews. I have been sending samples for years and trying my very best to establish and honestly gain knowledge from those who have sat with this tea.
Please! Whoever is doing this, stop. Remove the listings, and please remove yourself from here if you are going to hurt other businesses and people. This is a tea community of friends and fellow tea drinkers, please stop or feel free to send me a message.

2nd update: Everything is back to normal ratings-wise. Nicholas of Misty Peak worked very hard to make sure this happened!
I just noticed this myself and sent a note to Jason. A bunch of our teas, Whispering Pines Teas, and Verdant Teas also took a nose dive in ratings.
Sorry, had to run to the post office. Here you go: http://oi60.tinypic.com/2rr1751.jpg
Not cool :(

They were low balling some of the Mandala teas as well.
I’m sure Jason can save it! http://tennis.topbuzz.com/tennis-pics/d/30011-1/Kim+Clijsters+stretches+to+scoop+up+a+low+ball.JPG
Oh the first one is the person who said they are a monk from Thailand.
Yes, I found a photo of them: http://img.escapade.co.uk/SALEHIRE/Large/114174.jpg?2
I was sort of jazzed to have a monk with us, although I thought it was a little odd that they were on the internet and had so many teas from the US.
Haha yes. I do not think they are really a monk from Thailand, unfortunately.
Lol, I was thinking the same thing. Was wondering why a monk had a computer in the first place and why he was using his spare time to rate teas. And then the ever-mysterious “too much c”!

I wish there was a way to see everyone who’s rated a tea but not left a comment.
I agree. That’s the main issue here is that they can hide behind a lack of words. lol
I also wish there was a way to just tick “I drank this today” without having to go through the review screen.
Me too Marzipan! That would be great. Then the “most drank” feature would actually be accurate. I don’t log a lot of teas that I drink because I’ve already reviewed them.
One of those people rated two different teas the exact same way. In the wording, not just the rating. I read a couple though.
So sad people do things like this. Should keep this topic bumped until the issue is fixed to let people know what’s going on. I will never order from this company.
Edit: Sorry for my harsh words, please accept my apology. I am humbled and embarrassed.
Blodeuyn,
Please accept our apologies for this happening. This has nothing to do with our company and we are just as lost as everyone. Not sure what happened.
This does make me really sad too. It will completely turn me off of a tea company even if I like their teas.
Rating your own teas is bad enough but trying to lower other teas? That’s really despicable.
I’m fine with companies “reviewing” their own teas if they leave off a rating because they often tell interesting stories or give insight into their process.
