Any other Global Tea Hut Members?
Hello! I’m new to Steepster, and I didn’t see this in any previous discussions, so I am just curious to know if anyone else here is a member of the Global Tea Hut?
For those who don’t know, the Global Tea Hut (http://www.globalteahut.org) is the outreach program of Tea Sage Hut (http://www.teasagehut.org), where monthly donations to the program are thanked by a a magazine (about tea and taoism) and a quantity of different and truly delicious tea, either organic or sustainably harvest – so far I’ve received oolong, red tea (a.k.a. black tea), pu-erh, and black tea (post-fermented black tea), and it all has been exceedingly lovely and, if you are unfamiliar with it, I highly encourage people to check it out.
Tea Sage Hut is a tea and taoism center/school in Miao Li, Taiwan. Anyone is welcome to visit and stay there, free of charge, and learn about tea and/or taoism. Its primary figure (and possibly founder? I’m not 100% sure) is Wu De (Aaron Fisher) who has written a few books about the link between tea and spirituality: http://www.amazon.com/Aaron-Fisher/e/B001OJV3WK/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_2?qid=1371827188&sr=8-2
(To note, I have no affiliation with Tea Sage Hut, other than being a donor through the Global Tea Hut program, and a lot of respect for their mission. I have never visited there, though I one day hope to. I hope this is an appropriate sort of post.)
Hmm. I’m familiar with Wu De through The Leaf- his cha dao has contributed to the way gongfu cha is taught at my tea club. Nice to see another project he’s involved with. Thank you for sharing this.
