So, I definitely stopped updating this three near the end of our second season – for a couple reasons we ended up taking an unexpected hiatus in the summer and fall, though we did close out the season!

Season Three is here!!

Holy spaceballs tea friends, can you believe that this pandemic project is officially three seasons in!? It feels very surreal, but in the coolest kind of way. I mean, 50+ different fandoms explored is a lot – some mind blowing, some a struggle, and many somewhere in the middle.

To kick off season three we decided we’d start with a fandom that we new to us both:

Transformers: Generation One.

To be clear, this is a fandom that literally no one asked us to cover but so far we’ve aimed every season to have a few older (like, say, pre 1990s) fandoms that a lot of people think of as classic or “OG”. As much as our podcast is about discovering new fandoms to enjoy in the present or showing each other the fandoms that have been personally meaningful to us, it’s also about trying to earnestly explore the fandoms we’ve skipped over in the past or that have such historical “weight” to the nerd community at large and seeing if we actually can get into them and/or they hold up to today’s standards…

So, Transformers! I won’t spoil our conclusions, but here’s the content we watched as well as the teas that were featured this episode:

So this past week was a viewer pick fandom and one that, I think from our pilot episode where we gushed about how much we both love vampires, was probably a long time coming…

Whether you love it or hate it, it seems everyone and their uncle had an opinion on Twilight (the books and the movies). I don’t know that either of us were looking forward to this episode, but as notorious lovers of vampire fiction I think it makes sense that ‘the people’ wanted us to weigh in on this one. So that’s what we did, focusing specifically on the first Twilight movie.
