Steepster Select #010 Giveaway
I try not to judge a tea too quickly. I try to give it 5 tries before I make my final decision. I did have trouble with one tea which smelled and tasted like a camp fire, a very smoky camp fire. That one I could only try 2 times. If I really like a tea on the first try, then that decision is made at that time.
I usually “decide” on the first cup – But more often than not I like the tea less and less over time. I tend to be a bit too generous with the first cup, apparently! This is how I’ve learned to try a tea 2 or 3 times before buying a large amount.
Usually 1-2. If I’m finding I’m not liking it though I will definitely give it a few more tries than that before deciding it really isn’t for me.
Sometimes one – if it’s that bad then never again!
haha but at least a few cups to see if it’s worthy of buying more, or a permanent spot in my collection. Sometimes you can fall in love with the first sip, but out of love later. Then it’s swap time ;)
It depends. Usually with a flavored tea or a very basic unflavored one, I can tell with the first cup, unless I mess it up. In that case I have to try again. With more complex teas (namely oolongs, pu-erhs, and some blacks and greens) it will take me a few infusions or a few separate brewing sessions to truly form my opinion of the tea.
Most of the time, I can tell with the first cup. But I mostly drink flavored blacks and rooibos. If it’s something fancier, I wanna do a few cups.
