Looking for ways to use up a ton of Matcha
So I have a lot of Matcha that probably needs to get used up quickly. I just recently put the oldest opened bags in the freezer. I also have the unopened ones in the fridge right now. I read that that helps keep it fresh.
Currently I have:
-3 2oz bags of DavidsTea Ceremonial Matcha(one is unopened) all are 2-3 years old I think.
-20g Matcha Love Stone Ground Tencha Matcha (unopened) from February but the best by date is July.
-40g Mizuba Daily Matcha (unopened) from last July
Keeping it in the fridge (or freezer) definitely helps, but when you take the bag out, make sure it rises to room temperature before opening it. If it is too cold, condensation from the outside can get inside and you don’t want moisture in your matcha.
As for ways to use it –
Drink more – Usucha preparation, lattes, smoothies
Eat more – Sprinkle it on desserts or other foods, bake with it, put some on your ice cream.
Drink the higher quality stuff, eat the lower quality stuff.
MAKE SOME OF THESE DONUTS, they are so good! I even made some for my co-workers (that I don’t even like) and there were NONE left.

oh actually, here’s some more matcha recipes from that site (now I gotta make that crepe cake):

Definitely drink the ceremony grade and you can check out our blog (https://pathofcha.com/blogs/all-about-tea/tagged/matcha) for some matcha recipe ideas and tips on matcha preparation.
Good luck!
Baking with it is a great way to use up old matcha. I also like to make a face mask by mixing it with a bit of warm water and honey.
Milkshakes are one pretty darn good way to go.
