I plan to drink Cofftea’s mixture of Matcha and drinking chocolate first thing tomorrow morning. That will be an excellent way to start my new year.
YAY! If you want, maybe add a little extract of some sort? Vanilla would bring out the chocolate, but rum would make it more festive. Or maybe use chocolate soy milk?
Is this your blend from Adagio, Cofftea? It sounds good!
@rabbysmom, it is very good! But no, this is definitely not one of my Adagio blends. They don’t even carry matcha… which I think is ubber sad. If you’re looking for my Adagio blends, they can be found in the link on my profile.
Rishi’s matcha for me. I should of done a hot chocolate mix and joined you guys. I made my latte a tad too bitter today.
I will be having another half bowl of matcha at midnite then reading my Bible til it wears off and I can sleep lol. Which actually may not be very long, my dog kept me up til 1am last nite.
First thing when I wake up tomorrow is going to be Mariage Freres Marco Polo. Just because.
Good topic! Well, nothing exciting since I’m still into bagged tea, but I did pick up The Republic of Tea British Breakfast today so that’ll be the first. Up tonight with the 10 year old who is trying to stay awake to watch the ball drop, LOL.
Did you and your kid make it?
Twenty minutes to go before it is 2010…drinking one of my favs…pu erh(Golden Leaf Imperial – puerhshop.com)…this will probably run into the new year….what a way to greet another year…who needs champagne when one has pu!! Happi/healthi new yr everyone!
Drinking a high mountain oolong, don’t know anything more about it than that though, it was sent to me by a friend in the US whose parents sent it to her from Taiwan! It’s the last of the little bag she sent me, it’s my ‘friendship tea’ so that’s why I’m drinking it today :) to celebrate tea friends!
I found this really remarkable jasmine tea. Unlabeled, just put in a small plastic pouch. Lasted several long steeps with a wonderful aroma. Nothing like a gift to myself from the mysterious of moving.
Finding new tea is absolutely wonderful, but if it was good it’d drive me nuts that I couldn’t repurchase it.:)
Trying some Xanadu Earl Grey my mom’s client gave to me. Not a bad cup either. Looking for a Tea House on the 7th in Portland.
Lupicia’s Joyeux Noël, of which I’ve now had three cups, as I’ve been drinking it since last night. I had my first one yesterday evening, a resteep of that first thing this morning, and I’m now having a cup of new brew with a little cream.
I cannot get over what a difference that tiny little bit of cream made. I liked this tea well enough before, and I’m hesitant to go crazy with milk-based anything unless a) the tea really benefits, or b)the tea is so bland and forgettable I can’t drink it otherwise. Lupicia’s teas are never bland and forgettable, though of course YMMV.
But the only other tea I’ve encountered that seriously benefits so thoroughly from just a tiny drop of something milky is Earl Grey. (I should mention here that I’m slightly lactose-intolerant, and generally drink a lot of soy milk but don’t care much for soy creamer, so this is a big deal for me. XD)
Happy New Year to me! :9
My first tea of the year was some Oolong at a Chinese restaurant. I don’t know anything about it except that I enjoyed it!
