Another hit from Zhi Tea. So I was on the fence about this one. Coconut and me are iffy, but the Assam put me over the top. In my head it sounded like it should be so delicious. This time it was! The coconut is a toasted coconut and it brings a very toasty sweetness to the tea. The base Assam is smooth and actually offers a bit of a coffee/chocolate flavor. I love it when the samples that I order surprise me. Now I will just have to wait until next years sale to get more:)
My first BF order arrived last night. Zhi Tea. I added a sample of this tea to the order per a recommendation from fission___mailed. I love trying different EG’s and this was a fun spin on one. The smell of this is really good. It smells sweet and slightly floral. This is good! The base is there, yet smooth. I get slight hints of berg with a very creamy sweetness to it. At the end of the sip I get a tad flash of lavender that rounds it all out. Ooooh this is calming! This is slightly different from Zen Tea’s EGC, but yet similar. I like them both. Yum Yum Yum!
This is hands-down the best chamomile tea I have ever tasted. It’s very flavorful and produces a beautiful golden-yellow cup. Very smooth with some slight honey flavor. I love drinking this before bedtime to help me sleep.
Flavors: Honey
Preparation
Minty but not overpowering by any means. I love this tea and it really doesn’t need any additional sugar due to the Stevia leaf that is already in this blend. This tea is also caffeine-free which allows me to enjoy it in the evening.
Preparation
I feel like a princess when I drink it and I’m actually enjoying a cup right now! The sharpness of the bergamot is mellowed out by the creaminess of the vanilla. You can definitely taste the lavender but it isn’t overpowering. The tea base is assam so there is a little bit of astringency. You can enjoy this tea as is or with a touch of sugar and a splash of milk/cream. Either way, this tea is lovely and also beautiful to look at due to the cornflowers.
Flavors: Bergamot, Flowers, Lavender, Vanilla
Preparation
Not sure if this is black tea or black little pieces of heaven. This tea was absolutely incredible.
I wish I could piece together how I felt about it, but basically it was very very good. The air in the room once you ge the leaves wet is amazing. The tea taste is very sweet but also a bit refreshingly bitter. I wish I knew the full name of this tea or if it will be the same next year. Its superb.
Ps- Best results were with boiling water
Preparation
These Jasmine Pearls are excellent. The best pearls I’ve had. The jasmine is accentuated so well, with just the right amount of sweetness to balance it. This tea reminds me of walking down a calm lone road at night that’s lined with country wildflowers. It truly is and excellent tea and simultaneously stimulating and calming. I feel alive when drinking it.
Flavors: Honeysuckle, Jasmine
Preparation
Dry this smells intensely of lime. Hot it is lime, lemon, and ginger. Once it cools it becomes more ginger, lemon/lime. The ginger packs some heat. I still don’t know what green rooibos tastes like. It seems to fill in all the flavor voids in the cup. I think I most detect it as a sweet grassy aftertaste. There is licorice root in this. It only adds a tiny amount of sweetness. Halfway through the cup I added a little sweetener to see how it would react. No problem, though it added nothing but sweetness. It is not something I would drink much of, but I can see this being fun for fans of lime and ginger.
