From Martin :)
The base definitely tastes like a Chinese sencha, tangy almost like lemon, grass seed, dry grass. The balance tends more toward the green tea than toasted rice, which can be seen in the steeped leaf in the sachet. It’s stuffed full of green tea. Simple, pleasant drinker that I’ve been having the past several evenings. Sleep arrives unhindered by caffeine. Easy tea <3

National Popcorn Day! YAY! I followed the day prompt as well!
SIPDOWN 16 (not yet; I have one tea bag remaining. But I plan to finish it later today. It’s worth only single steeps.)
I wrote everything about this tea already. Grass seed flavour, cheap tea, nice genmai in. The base is a bit drying. If it just got a better, fresh grass taste instead of the grass seed.
Certainly it’s not the best available Genmaicha. Actually I feel it’s far from it. But as I wrote earlier. It’s cheap. It’s pyramid sachet. 85/100 is overrated for sure. Even considering it being a tea bag. But recommend for price/enjoyment ratio.
I saw it being available again. And I wrote I will buy it again. But I need to be much less buried in tea first! So, I decided against buying it.

Preparation
I prepared this tea again today for thermos cup I received after passing high school leaving exams. I usually don’t use it much; but this morning was exactly day for that. I was kinda in a hurry for a train, I had another exam today. Saturday! Mathematics! Course credit only!
Anyway, I wasn’t using boiling water, but haven’t measured the temperature. Steeped actually quite long; they suggest 2-3 minutes and I did maybe close to 5.
Well, that was awesome tea with great energy boost! It wasn’t grassy as I would like to have, but it is only tea bag (though pyramid) but full of grass seed flavours! It was just right; then some notes of toasted rice which was very nice and somehow filling the stomach even I haven’t ate them, but it felt just right.
As of now, I don’t know results of exam yet. I don’t even know, I have done it at least partially right. But the tea!

Preparation
There was “Asian week” in my local supermarket Lidl. I was eyeing for Genmaicha for long and during this week I finally bought it. It is kinda ironic that it contains green tea from China, but whatever.
I have tried to brew water around 80°; but if it is “right” I don’t know.
Anyway, steeped for suggested 2-3 minutes, all tea has expanded to pyramid sachet. It was quite dark green (brewed leaves), quite big leaves, considering it is only in a pyramidbag. Not much of toasted rice; but it is there.
The colour of tea is quite light green, cloudy. Aroma is hay, grass and grass seed, little of rice. Flavour is rather only grassy, quite tasty. Bit too drying base, not much of roasted rice. I have expected more from roasted notes; but I am happy that base is quite good and maybe I just picked a tea bag with not much of roasted rice in? It seems some are having more, some are having less. For 38 CZK/20 pyramid sachets I can’t complain much though! Very nice surprise; considering that only Genmaicha I got was in Dobra Cajovna tea room.

Yup, certainly a cheap tea, but not a bad one. It’s not even freshest tea… so maybe changed a bit too. I am glad that you liked it :)
