True story: this is my evening tea. Anything else and I’ll be staring at the ceiling for lord knows how many hours, you dig? Fortunately, Twinings’ peppermint possesses a strong mint flavor for ages and has a vibrancy that other peppermints lack. It’s Good Stuff, okay, and worthy of being a staple in my household.
Preparation
Hello, usual breakfast tea, how are you? I consider Twinings to be my hustle-and-bustle tea, perfect for sitting in a travel mug whilst I do other things around the house. It’s soothing, it’s comfortable, and it perks me up in the morning. Bonus: there’s this delightful orange note in the background that its gentleman counterpart doesn’t possess.
Preparation
Twinings tea is like an old friend. No matter how long you go without seeing each other, they’re always there, tested and true.
Lady Grey tastes, I think, like a more lemony Earl Grey. It has a delicious light flavour and it’s great any time. I do tend to drink it with milk and sugar even though I prefer my Earl Grey with lemon.
When I drink bagged teas though, I do tend to just leave the bag in until the tea is done, meaning occasionally the last bit is much too strong to drink, but I didn’t have that problem at all with this tea.
Good to the last drop!
Preparation
I ‘stole’ one teabag of every Twinings tea I haven’t tried yet in a hotel the other day. Shhhhhhhhhhhh ;)
This one smells awesome. Mmmmm apple pieeeeeee. Downside of it is that I’m hungry instead of thirsty after steeping and smelling it.
Tastes good – of apple pie (apples, cinnamon and raisins) but the black tea is veeeery vague. It’s a good fruit blend. But as TeaEqualsBliss said more like juice. I’m sure it would be yummy cold. Sweetened too.
So i really like it as a drink and that’s what counts for me but it’s not very tea-like. I’ll still rate it good cuz it’s kinda yummy :) And I’d gladly drink it again. But with a piece of apple pie on the side.
Preparation
Love Darjeeling and know how to make it. Familiar with estate blends, single estates, spring and summer flushed. Okay, I’m mad for Darleeing. But I really disliked the Twinings loose. Weak and stale tasting. Old? Adulterated? Maybe I had a bad batch?
Preparation
I wish I could drink the smell of this tea bag! The scent is definitely mandarin. The steeped tea, however, is a little bit weak. It does still smell great, and really it’s not bad. I tried a second steep for a looong time, and it definitely wasn’t oversteeped. I might try two bags next time.
Wasn’t planning on logging this since i already have & I took a sleeping pill so i’m falling asleep, but the parameters this time were PERFECT. water that had been boiled and cooled off a little bit , for about 4 or so minutes… The taste is just really good. The apple gives it a spicy kick while the chamomile is very soothing. upping my rating.
Preparation
I got this from Jaime in the take it away thread, and figured it’d be perfect for my sickness right now.
Not really tasting much, but there is some apple i’m tasting. I’ve found that chamomile teas are pretty bland. Maybe that’s just the kind i’ve been drinking. Not a bad overall flavor though, The apple flavor is a nice touch to this tea. It’s a perfect choice right now when i really just want a soothing, mellow, tea :)

My 1st Lady Grey! I needed something to go w/ lunch (left over spaghetti) and thought this would work. I originally set the timer for 6 min, but based on how quickly the liquor darkened I decided to pull it out at 3. After 3 short min the liquor is very dark brown, but I’m surprised at how light the aroma is. It smells of a smooth black tea w/ a hint of bergamot.I’m continually amazed by their bagged teas. The base is rather strong, but very smooth. The bergamot is a lot lighter than the Earls I’ve had, but is definitely there. Between the smoothness of the base and the bergamont I’m almost getting an Earl Dreamsicle type flavor. Very good. I’m tempted to give this a 100, but I want to compare it to others 1st.
Preparation
I had a tin of this (loose) that I recently finished. I’ll def buy it again. I prefer the smoothness of this Lady Grey to most Earl Greys I’ve tried.
Whoa… ok, can I give this a 200? Against my prior experience, I decided to have this cold (16oz, 2 bags) so I could swallow a couple of my pills. And I was REALLY surprised. This is the very 1st chai I have ever liked neat, cold. And it’s a bagged tea I steeped for 8 min. WOW! This would be an absolutely perfect tea for those who live in climates where they are able to enjoy iced tea in the fall w/o fear of passing out.
Preparation
Steeped for 8min then added a TB of caramel coffee creamer… WHOA! The apple and chai spices both stand up to the caramel which is amazing since this creamer is insanely sweet. This definitely confirms it’s worthy of the 100 rating.
Preparation
I almost bought this at the store this past weekend, now after reading your reviews I wish I would have! Def will pick it up now.
Can you actually taste apple? Like if you didn’t know it was called Chai Spiced Apple, would you be able to easily identify apple?
Twinings order 6/27
I LOVE making apple cider w/ chai, but hot apple juice is sticky and messy so I’m on my search for a good apple chai. The only other one I’ve tried is Adagio’s but I couldn’t get any apple from it.
As soon as I open the box I can tell this will be different… inspite of the bags being individually wrapped, I smell apple. I can smell chai spices as well, but my brain just screams “APPLE”. When I open the wrapper, it only gets better… the chai spice aroma is stronger, but so is the apple.
As it steeps, the aroma fills my kitchen- that doesn’t happen w/ every tea. WHOA… This tastes exactly like you’d sprinkled finely ground chai spices over a sliced apple. And I’m getting an apple trifecta… there’s the sweetness of the apple, a tartness that you’d get from a granny smith (my fave), and even a hint of green apple hard candy. This is amazing. One of the suggestions is to sweeten, but if you do- I’d only go w/ brown or raw sugar. I’m not seeing white sugar, stevia, or agave being a good match for this. Honey possibly. The only thing I can’t figure out is why they don’t suggest milk or creamer… I have vanilla caramel creamer so I’ll try that next.
Preparation
HOLY FREAKIN WIND BATMAN! This is the 2nd day in a row gusts will get up to 60mph- there was even a tornado touch down 45 min south of us. The pressure is so bad I feel like I have the bends. I feel like someone has piled cement bricks on top of my entire body and even crammed some inside of me. I’m not sure if caffeine is good or bad for this feeling, but we’ll see.
I added a bag of their apple chai to this in hopes to get rid of the artificiality of the french vanilla. 2 bags total, 16oz water, steeped for 8 min.
Unfortunately the artificiality is the 1st thing I taste when I take a sip, but it isn’t nearly as strong as when I have this plain. The apple is not strong either, but gives it a light sweetness w/o adding more artificiality. A strong, but yet smooth and comforting, cuppa.
Preparation
Seriously debated picking this up last night. And while I think I might be glad I didn’t, I kinda can’t help but wonder exactly how bad the artifial taset is.
Well considering only half of my cup was french vanilla and it was still something I noticed immediately w/ the 1st sip- it’s bad. Stick w/ the apple and pumpkin.:)
