I received this is a “Mystery Swap” with Allie. Thank you for sharing!
So since I don’t know the history of this tea, when it was bought, how it was stored, I am going to chock my review and my tastings up to packaging. The first sip to me tasted like this tea picked up the flavor of the inside of a plastic bag it was shipped in. I get no hints of almond or even a black tea taste. I liked the name of this tea and, based on the name I was hoping for an “almond joy” tea.
Hmm… I think it is the bag. It was purchased in November and stored in the air sealed bag it was purchased in. It should taste similar to an almond cookie. :-/
This tea is absolutely fabulous! It is a black/green blend and the scent is cherry, but not like cherry syrup. I made this iced and it was really refreshing! I could not detect a black base to the tea though. The flavor was almost that of a good cherry juice! I felt like I shouldn’t have been drinking it, because of the sweetness, but it’s not loaded with sugar. At least this will take care of my cravings for Traverse City cherries until I have the opportunity to go up north this summer! :-)
Preparation
This is a wonderful tea! I have a fondness for almost anything black currant and this tea does not disappoint! I wish they sold this in a caffeinated version, but the taste is still amazing. I added sweetener and cream. The currant flavor is not too astringent nor is it fake. I will by buying more of this one shortly.
Preparation
This tea is very good! The smell of the dry tea is delicious. It smells good enough eat! I brewed for 5 minutes and added sweetener and cream. This tea is very good! It’s bold, but doesn’t overpower the hazelnut flavor. There are mini-chocolate chips in the mix, but the chocolate notes are not very detectable when brewed. I think this tea is worthy of becoming a latte :-)
