I really don’t get caramel from this. The rooibos doesn’t play that well with the black tea, so it tastes sort of boring. I get a tang of clove, and other than that, it’s mostly rooibos, maybe a slightly desserty flavoring. It’s better cool, but it’s not a great tea.
I hadn’t heard of this brand before, but it was fun to try something new from the tea box. Wow, this really tastes like cheesecake! I don’t get any fruit, and I taste a bit of dessertiness that could sort of be interpreted as caramel. But the cheesecake flavor is so strong and clear. The resteep was all cheesecake too!
Oooo I’m somewhat enticed! I just wish there were pictures so I could recognize the teas I’ve already tried from other companies better!
Additional notes: I’m enjoying this good one from a long ago teabox. I have so many little amounts of teas everywhere! It’s amazing I can keep track of them.
I think I mentioned Jonathan Wilson’s music here before, and he has a new one out. All four of his albums are solid. And here is a lovely calming song I forgot about for a while: Sin Fang – Down:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_2tm6rLihQ&list=OLAK5uy_kGZlzT-mmgXLXYJzk_VWRGbDv4_m-sgoU&index=9
Hope you’re all doing okay out there.
Another musician like Jonathan Wilson a bit is Gaz Coombes. I still love his album ’World’s Strongest Man’ from a couple years ago.
I’ve met the Tea Mistress, though I can’t recall her name at the moment. She organized several tea festivals in Houston a few years back. She also did a tea meetup group, though I’m not sure that’s active any more. There was a fun gongfu session at a tea place in Houston China town, I think of the group only she and I had done gongfu before. I’ve never been to her tea shop, though I suppose I should stop by the next time I’m in Houston.
Here’s Hoping Teabox – Round Six – Tea #9
Teas like this are why I love teaboxes! It’s a little tea company not on Steepster yet but this blend is wonderful. A nice hot comforting cup of no-caff tulsi chai while watching a harrowing Sherlock episode a couple days ago (second steep was last night — just posting this tasting note now.) I love tulsi and it isn’t overpowering here with the lovely spices in the mix. The tulsi has a mild vegetal flavor while maintaining some sweetness. I think even people who don’t usually like tulsi might like this one. There is also vanilla…not sure if I can tell. The website for this company doesn’t really list their teas since they’re seasonal… it says to e-mail them about it. Thanks to whomever included this one in the box! Just a perfect tasty cup of tea.
