drank Rooibos Peach Bloom by Teavana

Lovely! The peach tastes natural, and there’s a sharp, not quite citrus note in the background that sets it off beautifully. I think I just prefer green rooibos with softer flavors; I wish I’d thought to get some plain before I started mucking around with blends.

3 cups – as is. Tremendous if steeped a little longer – that is if you like it stronger like me!

LOVE THIS. I tend to steep a little longer on this one tho. Good Black Tea with Bergamot undertones. Nice dark color. Light scent of tea and very slight smell of citrus.

I just don’t think green rooibos is for me. The strawberry/citrus blend is wonderful—though my bag seems (happily) free of marshmallows—but there is an underlying wrong, chemical-y taste to the whole concoction. It’s not undrinkable, but I’m going to have to try icing it to see if that cuts the weird flavor.

Definitely the best of both worlds — powdered matcha and roasted kukicha — and so delicious. Plus, I love a beautiful cup of true green tea!

I’m honestly not certain if it’s the green rooibos, which I’ve not had before, or the pomegranate overpowering everything else, but I just cannot get into this one, which is a shame, as it smells heavenly in the bag. The hints of apple and lemon in the background are interesting, but overwhelmed by an almost synthetic fruitiness.

drank Rooibos Chai by Teavana

I am a big fan of rooibos, and certainly chai; this one isn’t too bad a blend. Easy and smooth going down, I believe the rooibos helps take the sting out of the chai’s spices. This might be good for people looking for a less-intense chai flavor.

While it’s not the finest chai out there, it’s still tasty. You can easily pick up the smell of the cardamom and ginger, and definitely taste it on the way down. Strong flavor, but still lacking something.. can’t put my finger on what.

drank MateVana by Teavana

Several years ago, I got an amazing Christmas present from my mom. It was a big orange box with a gold string tied around it, and inside I found a tea press, a silver tea spoon, a bag of German rock sugar, and four large tins of loose leaf tea. This was my introduction to tea, and it launched an obsession.
I brewed up all four teas for myself and two friends and we did a taste test. We all agreed that the mate vana was the best of the four. It smelled like cocoa and almond slices and went well with milk and sugar. It didn’t become bitter or astringent with longer steeping times. In short, it was the perfect introduction to tea.
I have to love mate vana. It was my gateway tea.

drank Almond Biscotti by Teavana

So glad this tea wasn’t discontinued to make room for their new blends!!! If they got rid of Almond Biscotti I don’t know what I’d do (… I would probably spend a small fortune stockpiling the stuff.)

Today I decided to try something new! I love this tea on its own, it is nutty, fragrant, sweet, and hearty. I added a bit of cream, a drop of vanilla extract, a touch of meadowfoam honey, and stirred. Holy cow. It paired perfectly with the batch of Italian wedding cookies we had sitting on our counter! Mixing it with cream made this blend utterly decadent!

It was a little bit bitter today. Didn’t oversteep, but it was somewhat overpowering. Sweetened it a little bit to take the edge off, and it still made a good cup.

This tea has a very full and warm flavor. It is almost malty. I like adding a bit of vanilla sugar to make it even more decadent. I steep for about 4 minutes.

This is the last time I’ll be logging this tea. I found a wee bit I had stashed away after the discontinuation. :( I opened the container and was hit with the lovely perfumey scent of the candied rose, and couldn’t help but sigh. This is my absolute favorite tea, and I’ve yet to find a good replacement for it. I’ve even been considering buying a rose tea and trying to supplement it with my own candied flowers.

The scent after brewing it just as sweet, but not as powerful as it was when dry. The tea itself is quite sweet on it’s own, but I love adding a touch of lavender-infused honey to amp it up a bit. It is a delicate rose flavor that compliments the black tea well.

It isn’t a complex tea, or anything super special. It was definitely one of my favorites, though, and it’s discontinuation adds to the bitterness I feel towards Teavana’s fruit-takeover. I seriously feel like they’re purposefully getting rid of the non-fruity teas sometimes.

I drank a rose congou blend at my local tea house, and it was wonderful, but it left me hankering for something sweeter. I turned to this.

This tea has an almost cloyingly sweet aroma, but it is delicious. The candied violet pieces sweeten the tea so I rarely ever reach for sugar or honey when steeping. I steep it for about 3 minutes. Any longer and the flavors become a tad bitter.

This would be okay if you dumpd in several sugar cubes. There’s something abou Teavana’s herbal teas that leaves a lot to be desired… I find they’re almost always bitter (regardless of prep.)
