I have no idea why, but I impulsively ate a sour Warhead right before the leaves finished steeping. The lingering berry taste was actually a nice addition to this robust tea. It’s pricey though — almost 20 bucks for two ounces.
Much better with a hint of milk and some sugar. I usually hate sweet hot tea (beyond masala chai) but this is definitely one that works better sweet for me. I want to try it as though it were chai later just to see how it goes, because it’s rocking right now.
I didn’t steep enough tea for long enough, I think, though I am not a fan of white tea so I may just be too dense for this light of a flavor. Next cup I’ll add some more and try it, because the smell is amazing.
Teavana guy recommended this with the Rooibos Hazelnut Dolce (equal parts) and milk. I sweeten it just a bit and have it instead of regular chai when I don’t want the caffeine. It’s kind of my dessert treat when I want a change from pure tea.
Deliciously sweet & rich tea. A great Oolong at that, not bad in price either. I recommend blending with the Ginger Peach Apricot as well in equal amounts, they pair wonderfully.
I drink this with the Sweet Oolong Revolution and add extra ginger, peaches & apricots. I also have been blending Samovar’s Orange Ginger herbal infusion & Lychee Black tea to this to add even more flavors that blend well.
The popped and roasted rice that Teavana blends into its genmaicha make it an amusing sight before you add water, though as genmaicha goes it does seem as if the blending helps to conceal two less-strong teas into one slightly stronger one. Tasty nonetheless.
The first cup of tea off these leaves is heavenly. I have found that repeat brewings are bitter. Widely available at Asian food stores – could probably be obtained more cheaply than at a boutique like Teavana.
