I blended this tea with Youthberry (Teavana) and found it to be very good cold and decent hot, however, when trying this tea by itself, it was very tart without sugar. Decent with Pomegranate Sugar Sticks (Teavana) or Youthberry, but different by itself.
Preparation
I don’t care for any of the Rooibos teas or it’s cousins. I don’t know why, but the aftertaste just doesn’t sit well with me. My wife loves it though. This is her favorite.
This is my everyday tea. I love the Assam Gold Rain more, but I chose this for my everyday tea since it is cheaper. (I drink about a quart a day instead of coffee.) I like it strong, so I do 1.5 tsp per cup. I add sugar too, about a tsp per cup.
Preparation
I ended up having to get this tea when my local Teavana store was out of English Breakfast. I have to say, it is my favorite tea hands down now. I like a little sugar in mine and definitely drink it hot. I did try it iced once and..no not good. I found it to be very time sensitive, so don’t over steep it.
Preparation
Taken Plain.
It’s not toasty…
It’s not really nutty…
and it tastes nothing like a brulee.
This might be the worst named tea ever… wait I found it!
The only hint of flavors that resemble the name are in the initial wash of flavor. All of the middle and after taste is of fruit and spice which really reminds me of the old blend of Sweet Oolong revolution. It even has that same mildly bitter after taste. This tea is nice if a fun different way until the after taste hits and then I don’t like the flavor at all. The tail end of the flavor reminds me of when I was a kid and wanted to know what nutmeg by itself tastes like and my mouth got all drink and I felt like I needed to drink something.
So I’m going to go drink something else…
Preparation
Yeah, I saw that one last time I was in the store and was all “gimmegimme” until I looked at the ingredients and smelled it… WTH? Coconut? Pineapple? Not what I was expecting.
This tea is amazing. SOOO good! The way I brew it is different than the directions though because when I followed the directions I found that it was very weak and light and I could barely taste it. So I put the water AND the tea in the tea kettle on high heat, then when it comes to a boil it’s done. It comes out nice and flavorful that way. I also use way more tea than it says to for that amount water. :-) I like to sweeten it with either the rock sugar or raw natural sugar.
This is a solid, but light, daily drinker green. Gentle chestnut and vanilla aroma, with warm rain. Soup is an even straw gold. Flavor is satisfying, buttery and smooth, with a bit of bamboo shoot and almond. Not overly intense or complex and good for the price. My everyday cup at work.
