Made my first Sipsby order while they were having a sale. When I got the teas, two of them are branded with what seems to be a Sipsby sub brand, Tea Head and Cookie Tea. I’m guessing they are catalog brands repackaged? On the back of the bag was an address, 1300 Anderson Lane Building D in Austin. Do they have a store there? I know Austin, so Anderson lane seems odd. It’s always either East or West Anderson. West is some random little building, but East is PREPATX, a ghost kitchen space. I’ve never heard of a tea company running out of a ghost kitchen, but that’s a clever way to acquire the space needed for packaging tea! No retail location, mystery solved.
Unfortunately, the location mystery was the best part about this tea. I’m a sucker for almond tea, so I had to try this, but it tastes like a hot cup of nothing. There is the lightest of flavors ever in my cup. The front of the sip has a slight sour note to it that makes me suspect the coconut is thinking about turning. It leaves my mouth sour and dry in the finish like a rooibos. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a tea go straight to the get rid of bin after one cup, but here I am!
Preparation
I received this one in a Sips by box, and it’s sadly not for me. The peach flavor is okay, if a little fake. The unfortunate thing for me is that the tea base tastes low quality. I’ve been spoiled by drinking mostly 52teas green teas! This tea was perfectly fine to drink cold at work, but I don’t really want another serving.
Flavor wise this one is quite pleasant! The vanilla really stands out to me and is something I’ve wished for but not gotten in a lot of other vanilla type teas. Smooth and creamy and sweet. Then you have the tartness of the cherry. I definitely wouldn’t mind continuing to drink this, but unfortunately I’m finding that cherry doesn’t sit well with my stomach. Such a pity because I really liked this one.

Backlog 2/3/22, Sipsby Tea
I brewed this as a hot tea but regretted it immediately. The hibiscus was the only thing jumping out. I don’t mind hibiscus, however, when the note on the label states, “Juicy strawberry,” I don’t expect extremely sour. I tossed it over ice, which helped dull the tartness down a bit, but it never reminded me of a strawberry.

I started this tea hot, looking for something soothing and fruity in the winter. When hot, the sour cherry stands out, but I thought it wasn’t quite right and perhaps would be better iced.
Unfortunately, when I tried it iced, the vanilla was far more obvious and unpleasant. It didn’t overshadow the sour cherry entirely, but it felt …not quite right, and perhaps it would be better hot.
Overall, not a wow from me either way.

A lovely hot tea for winter. Made the room smell nice but was subtle with the spice. The cinnamon is most prominent and lingers a while after your sip (maybe my favorite part, as I love cinnamon). I drank three cups and finished the packet easily, if a little sadly – I’d buy this again.
This was my Sipsby advent day 1, but since I placed them all randomly throughout the calendar who knows what others will have!
