I went to this tea room with my family in Christmas 2016 and loved this tea so much that I had to buy some. I still love it. It is so tasty. I love the flavours and the fruitiness and just love. I am full of love.

Thank you for sharing, Sil!

The spices are perfect with the booze and honey I added. :D

All I can really smell/taste is cloves and a bit of cinnamon, though. Possibly due to the sick, but it’s hard to say. I think I prefer Esprit de Noel (black) from Mariage Freres.

Thanks for sharing this with me Sil – It’s called a Christmas Spice Tea and I guess it is – but it read more as a chai. This is a nice light spice tea – I didn’t get as much fruit flavors as Sil commented on – but there was a hint of vanilla.
All in all this was an enjoyable cup. Happy to have tried it.

This is a spicy tea! The dry leaf has lots of big plump cranberries. The taste is medium hot clove and cardamon chai like blend, with a sweet and tart cranberry vanilla finish. I’m thinking this tea would make an excellent latte!

This was a sample provided by the secret garden tea company. I’ve been searching for a christmas spice tea that wasn’t as intense as many of other ones from france are. This one smells very similar to other christmas spice teas. Brewed up though, this is softer…christmas spice without that intense in your face orange, clove that a lot of spice teas have. I think that it might be the addition of vanilla, or perhaps the cranberries? The ingredients don’t list the berry that i can see, but the two makes this a tasty blend.

Thanks Secret Garden tea, for letting me try this one!

I thought I reviewed this before, but I guess not so here goes.

I steeped this one for closer to 3-5 minutes this time and I enjoy it more than usual. There’s a strong flavor of roses and lemon which try as I may, I just don’t like. Definitely can taste some citrus and hibiscus but the mango is lacking. Others seem to like it but I just don’t, I’ll have to throw it in my box for the Herbal TTB when it comes around.

oh god. So i couldn’t find this one on steepster because it was hiding away from the rest of the secret garden teas. I’ve located it now and tried to condence the listing but at the time i brewed this, i was just thinking some sort of black blend.
firs sip.. ah gawd! it’s…it’s jasmine! and blergamot! IN THE SAME CUP! aaaaah! yeah that’s pretty much how that went. Still though, i’ll try nearly anything. and i suppose if you like that sort of thing and it wasn’t your mortal enemy…this would be a decent cup as the base blends nicely with those ingredients. bah. lol

thanks anlina!

Starfevre

haha blergamot. ah, you might have just made my day.

Sil

goodie :)

Marzipan

I’m picturing you doing an exorcist type head spin.

Sil

if you like that sort of thing, it would be tasty. And i’m always up for trying things that i don’t like…just in case haha

Anlina was awesome enough to let me try this one from secret garden. I was intrigued by this one as i always seem to gravitate towards pear teas…sadly this one was a miss for me as i didn’t get much pear out of it and it seemed a little bitter. I was trying to be careful about steeping it, as anlina suggested that they are a bit finicky but maybe i mistimed this one. It was just sort of bitter and neither plumlike nor pear like for me. I may try this one again in future though as it seems like the potential is there so i may just have messed it up.

Another from Anlina that i tried yesterday. Funnily enough, i much prefer their secret garden tea to this one, even though the two seem like they should be similar. This one, while berry and vanilla like – has a bitterness to it and the tastes don’t blend together nearly as well as the other offering Anlina sent me to try. Given the choice, i’d go for the other tea :) Good to try though because this would have been one i’d have picked up to try!

thank you Anlina for sharing this one with me. I grabbed this one to try yesterday and hadn’t looked at what it was supposed to be. What resulted was a really nice, vanilla berry tea – leaning towards strawberry with just a sense or cream. It was delicious and a great first introduction to this company!

TeaLady441

Oooob! You can’t go wrong with slightly creamy strawberry.

Ususally I like peach teas. But this one…
This one was just bad. 0_0
There was no sweetness really, and the black tea base really overpowered everything else. Kinda bitter, and all around not the tea for me.
Disappointed in this one. D:
Thanks for the sample though, Albertocanfly!

Actually dislike Peach teas are some of my favorites.

A really nice medley of flavors.

The floral notes of the rose and lavender contrast well with the earthy, nutty flavors of the rooibos and the sweet-tart notes of berry.

The sip starts with floral notes, then I taste the berry notes and and by mid-sip, I’m picking up on the honeyed flavor of the rooibos. A really nice, calming blend.

I was a little surprised to find chamomile blossoms in this tea because the ingredient list doesn’t say “chamomile”. I saw the rosehips and rose petals and blackberry leaves, but I also saw chamomile.

This is a tasty blend. The black tea is robust. It melds nicely with the notes of creamy vanilla. I like how the malty notes of the black tea combine with the notes of vanilla. Really yum.

The bergamot is a softer flavor. When I first read the description of this tea, I thought it would be like an Earl Gray Creme, but it didn’t turn out that way. The bergamot is a bit too soft to be something I’d think of as an Earl Gray Creme. The vanilla is really the main focus of this tea. I still taste the bergamot and the notes of flower, but the vanilla takes center stage.

I received several different teas from Secret Garden, and I really enjoyed what I tried from them. I might have to talk my daughter into a trip to Vancouver BC so that we can visit the tea room.

This is a really tasty Mango tea. There’s a nice balance between fresh tasting green tea and sweet mango flavor. The green tea is sweet and buttery with light vegetal tones. It complements the sweet, ripe mango flavors nicely. The mango has a very authentic, true to the fruit type of taste that I appreciate.

Overall, it’s a good tea. I’d be happy to enjoy this any time. Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/11/04/mango-green-tea-from-the-secret-garden-tea-co/

I love the dry leaf aroma: notes of berry and vanilla. Once brewed, there are more black tea notes, and the vanilla fragrance becomes softer and the berry notes seem to disappear.

It’s tasty! Even though I can’t smell the strawberry in the brewed tea, I can definitely taste it. Hint of chocolate. Vanilla. Sweet strawberry with a tart note in the aftertaste. The chocolate was very subtle. As I say in my full-length review of this tea – http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/10/27/secret-gardens-secret-black-tea-from-the-secret-garden-tea-company/ – the chocolate is very unassuming, it’s a note that sort of hides itself but every once in a while the palate notices it and the taste buds jump up and say, ‘whoa, what was that? chocolate???’

The black tea is lovely with notes of malt.

A really enjoyable tea.

As I wrote in my full-length article – http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/10/21/vanilla-almond-black-tea-blend-from-the-secret-garden-tea-company/ – this tea is unbelievably smooth. So sweet and silky and delightfully yummy.

There is very little astringency to this – the earliest sips were not astringent and as I continued to sip, I started to pick up on a light dryness. It’s very smooth from start to finish.

The vanilla is noticeable right from the start. I would pick up on the almond somewhere between the start and mid-sip, and I found that the vanilla and nutty flavor were very complemented each other well.

The black tea base is smooth and even-toned, I suspect it is a Ceylon. A really nice tea.

The brewed tisane smells amazing. Distinct notes of vanilla and it smells heavenly.

It tastes good too! I’m not really big on rooibos (as you’re probably aware) but the nutty flavors of the rooibos work well with the strong vanilla tones. I also taste subtle floral tones and hints of the berry flavor, and even a bit of that berry tingle in the aftertaste.

It’s a relaxing tisane and it has a desserty flavor to it, nice for after dinner. Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/10/15/secret-garden-rooibos-tisane-from-the-secret-garden-tea-company/

Sample sipdown! :D
Been trying to sipdown all the many samples that I’ve tried and liked. I have a small box with a pretty decent amount left. So trying to sip them down sooner than later.
I’d definitely never buy this one, but it was a nice sample.
I really do prefer DavidsTea’s version, it’s much more creamy and caramel-y, with less woody flavors.
But it was alright. Not bad for a sample. Glad I got to try it, Thanks again for the sample, Albertocanfly! (:

Another one from the wonderful Albertocanfly!
This one was actually pretty good! Didn’t know what to expect really. But I ended up finding myself a little disappointed. I mean Creamy Caramel sounds like a dream in my book, but at the same time I had a bad feeling that the rooibos would take over.
In some way I was impressed that it actually did taste like a creamy caramel, but at the same time the woodiness in the rooibos kinda tried to take over. So that was sad.
DavidsTea’s Creme Caramel Rooibos is MUCH better.
This one definitely tasted more like cream than caramel though, so I prefer Davids’. But this is a nice tea to try. I will enjoy finishing it off. Thanks for the sample, Albertocanfly! :D

The aroma is heavenly! Strong notes of bergamot with vanilla. I don’t smell a lot of rose in the dry leaf (nor do I smell a lot of rose with the brewed tea).

This is a tasty Earl Grey creme type of tea. The rose is the “different” ingredient here and I do taste it, it weaves its way in and out of the sip. It’s never a really strong or obvious presence in the tea, but every once in a while, I’d pick up on it. It would peek in and say, “hello, here I am!”

The black tea is brisk and medium-bodied. The bergamot is tangy and strong (I like my bergamot like that!) and the vanilla tempers the sharper notes of bergamot. It’s a really nice balance of flavors.

Got a sample of this from the awesome Albertocanfly! ^^
So I probably wouldn’t have chosen to get this tea otherwise, because the combo of lemon and mango seems odd to me. But I found myself curious when I received a sample of it in her last package to me.
So I gave it a shot!
The aroma of this tea is definitely mango. Not too strong, but definitely there.
Lemon is the dominant flavor in this tea, but there are still mango notes here and there. She told me to add sugar to it, but I never add sugar to anything, so this is a review on it without anything added.
It’s pretty sweet by itself. Not overly, but enough. I’m sure that the sugar brings out a lot more in this tea. Maybe I’ll try it with sugar next time. For now it makes a pleasant cup of tea. Thanks for the sample, Albertocanfly!!

I definitely oversteeped this one. >< Couldn’t find out how long to steep it for though, so I did it for like 4 mins or so. Apparently that was too long, because it turned out REALLY bitter.
I could still taste the vanilla though. It was a deep, and yet kinda fluffy vanilla, kinda like a marshmallow. If I hadn’t oversteeped it, it would have been a wonderful cuppa!
I will have to mess around with it some more till I get it right!
Thank you for the sample, LiberTEAS! I do love to try another vanilla tea!

Flavors: Bitter, Vanilla

Anlina

I’m not sure why, but all of the Secret Garden blacks I tried were very sensitive to over steeping. I did them all at 3min or less, and even 3 min was really pushing it. Cooler water might also be worth trying (I used 96C)

Ost

Thanks for the tip!! I will definitely keep that in mind next time I try it! I tend to forget about teas while steeping, so I’ll be super cautious with this one!
