Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tisane.
This is alright. Not my favorite rooibos blend, but, it isn’t bad. The nutty flavor of the almonds melds well with the natural nutty taste of the rooibos. It’s drinkable, acceptable if its offered but not something I’d ask for or buy for myself.
I want to thank MandyB for this one! This is only my 2nd tea encounter with Merkaba and I remember the first one being positive. So-Far-So-Good with this one, too! This sort of smells like an Amaretto Sour. It doesn’t really taste like one tho…the taste is more Almond and Rooibos, of course. The almond is nicely done. The natural sweetness of the rooibos makes it so there isn’t a bitterness to it. It’s creamy and almost floral in the middle of the sip. Where ever the taste rollercoaster seems to go on this ride – it always comes back to the almond.
I like this!
This is a delicious milk oolong. I am of the school of thought that some milk oolongs aka Jin Xuan or Golden Lily are natural and others are treated in some way to produce an in-your-face flavor. I believe this one belongs with the later group. However, it is so delicious that I, frankly, don’t care. This is milky, creamy, sweet and delicious. It stays quite flavorful through 3 infusions. There is also a nice floral component. This is a favorite and highly recommended.
Preparation
WOW! The smell of this one is truly unique! It smells semi-tropical and then there is the vanilla but there is some non-tropical smelling floral notes and almost a sugar scent as well! And that’s the Dry Leaf Smell!
The Wet Leaves are as described above but more of a woodsy and perfume smell too!
The liquid has slight scents of both sets described above as well as a different sort of vanilla and black tea smell that is more prominent than before.
It’s very floral and woodsy on the tongue with a slight bitter-black tea taste. There seems to be a grassy end to the sip. This seems to be one of the more complex blends I have had in quite some time!
It’s extremely strong and a quicker sip reveals a bit of fruity taste as well! WOW! This tea seems to have everything incorporated somehow.
Not bad. Actually I like it. Very interesting Cuppa.
