It definitely tastes and smells like Marco Polo, but the original black will always be my favorite.

I’m not a huge Earl Grey fan, and this sort of tasted like a more sophisticated version of Earl Grey.

It’s mild, but strangely addicting. It sort of reminds me of rice pudding.

I very much wanted to like this tea. It was a special order based on a Teamailer’s recommendation, however, it seems that our tastes diverge on this blend. The smell is overpowering: the fragrance dominated my tea cabinet so badly that I had to seal it in extra Ziploc bags. The flavor is equally intense. I found it too perfume-like for my palate.

I love this tea. Nice and citrus-y but not overpoweringly so. A bit lighter than most EGs. Has a bit of a lemon taste but not enough to make you think of household cleaning supplies or anything. Really nice and perfect with a little sugar and a dash of milk. Sadly, this is the last of it – a running theme with my black teas currently. Just an excuse to get more!

Fruitier than L’Opera, yet richer and heavier, so better for a kick. It can be overbearing, but this is one of my go to teas. Works well with honey. In fact, I wouldn’t have it without.

I’m about half-way through. I bought 3.5 oz at Dean & Deluca for $20.That’s $11.50 for 2 oz (which is just a bit higher than the standard $6-$8 / 2oz at Teavanna).

Found this in the back of my pantry – only 7g so I put the whole thing in 9oz to brew for 1min. Tastes like a mild black but with nice soft citrus notes. I think I remember it being smokier – not sure if age or the way I brewed it made the difference there but I like it.

A nice, light EG. Can’t pick up the jasmine so much as just a general floral softness. Definitely the mildest EG-style tea I’ve had, but still distinctive enough to be an EG.

Been drinking this a lot more these past few days since i got a new infuser. But I’ve been holding off with the milk and loved it! Guess I’m not much of a tea with milk person after all.

This was a gift from a friend traveling in New York. I find the distinct spice flavor appetizing and suitable with a hearty meal. I generally prefer teas without milk but this, I recommend with a dash of milk to enhance its flavor, making the taste more lasting.

Georgie is very mild, almost thin. If you are looking for a brisk, robust tea, then please look elsewhere. It was pleasant with some malty flavors.

It just arrived in the mail today from France. With our standard 7g, 750 ml boiling water, 5 minutes, the aroma knocked my socks off. The white tips are also pretty. It’s quite mild.

Though pretty good, Sencha Imperial falls short of Mariage Freres’ higher grade of Sakura Tea. I’m probably a harsher critic than most. And it is cheap enough that you can actually afford to drink it if it suits you. I just won’t purchase any more of it once I finish off this tin.

We purchased this back in February, and to our surprise the flavor is already falling off. We store it in an air-tight tin from Mariage Freres so we are not doing anything odd. It just demonstrates that good tea has a finite shelf life. If you like it, drink it all before it goes south.

Delicious! The mint helps leave a clean finish on this mixed black-green-bergamot-mint teea.

Our usual brew: 7 grams in our 700ml Hario glass teapot. Boiling water for 5 minutes. Lovely.
