A bit bitter, but it’s a very old teabag. I added a touch of agave, as it seemed appropriate. I don’t really know what quince tastes like, muchless opuncia… I am basically just drinking this to de-cupboard it.
99 baggies/boxes/tins of tea on the wall, 99 containers of tea. Take one down, pass it around…
Preparation
gifted to me by a kind friend who knows i like different varieties of tea, this tea is surprisingly delicious, uplifting with a hint of spice. mirabelle is apparently a small yellow plum. the tea comes from Poland. it’s probably one of the nicest, more complex fruit teas that i’ve ever had. i’d like to take this taste & wrap it in chocolate.
The tea brews to the colour of slightly aged oak furniture. It smells lightly citrusy. A fairly light tea that is pleasantly drinkable, but seems to lack the deep, malty, biscuity tones I associate with assam. Instead it has bright fruity notes without a great deal of astringency. More of an afternoon tea than a morning tea. Resteeps well.
