Thanks for the sample yssah! I think my milk oolong got infected with cherry flavoring from another sample tea. When I opened my swap package everything was SO CHERRY smelling. So far none of the ones I have tasted have seemed infected but I am definitely getting a cherry note from this oolong. It is tasty though! :)
Beleive it or not this is my first Earl Grey, well, home made anyway. I had one at the coffee shop recently but this is the first I steeped myself. And I find it lovely. Extremely mellow and relaxing. I beleive its caffinated, which gave me a lot of motivation to get things done around the house (if its not caffinated then my brain was happily tricked). I’m always stunned by how caffine in tea hits me so different then pop or coffee do. At any rate, now I’ve got an entirely new realm of teas to try now that I know I like EG’s. What fun!
Preparation
I woke up too late to go to my stupid lab since the instructor is a rude jerk who won’t count people as there if they’re 5 min late. Then with 9 minutes to spare I realize I have an email from the management that there’s a water break at my building and the water’s going off at 10:45. I filled my kettle to the brim, I filled my Brita pitcher up, and then there’s about 80 oz of water to clean out infusers left. Whooo. I’m set.
This is from yssah, thank you!
This reminds me of Blueberry Zabaglione but a lot more subtle. Blueberry’s there, but it’s not predominant until it cools, the vanilla cream flavor is more prominent.
I like it just fine this way, but I wasn’t hoping for strong blueberry I suppose. I like the base tea to this, there was just this tinge of maltiness to it that was really nice.
Preparation
Not sure what happened with this – maybe I have a bad association, but this made me think of cherry cough syrup. I don’t know that cherry is my thing so I won’t rate it as other people may enjoy this tea!
Thanks Yssah for letting me try it out!
This is CLOVE. It smells and tastes just like real cloves!
While it is not bad, I would prefer to have this mixed with something else. I know it would be perfect for flavoring chai. And it would probably be cool with the orange flavored black tea too :)
For the record, this is my first ever milk oolong. And I am not (yet) a fan of green tea (coz it easily gets bitter when I steep it) or the vegetal taste (tho I like matcha and jasmine tea).
BUT this…tastes a bit vegetal..and it is buttery….oh so buttery! From the scent it exudes upon steeping up to the nth steep that I was able to squeeze out of it. I love it so! I imagine I can be happy drinking this for days on end.
im not an expert in Darjeeling but ive tried a few that got astringent and i have also had some EG that easily got bitter in the steep.
this did not easily get bitter, neither was it unpleasantly astringent (at least, not that i noticed) so this is a good Darjeeling for me :)
add a lil EG flavor and yeah!
i have been wanting to try all my Jasmines at the same time and since i am starting to group my teas by category, it just got easier to up and actually do it. wasnt able to include the newly arrived swaps but this is the best of the 5 pearls in my possession.
other pearls were: Teavivre, Mark T Wendell, Tazo, and Ovation (in no particular order)
also infused some Jasmine Jazz on the side but that is for another tasting note :)
When I was tasting this, I thought “This tastes fun.”
Hence, the name :)
*I like it so much, I think I will offer this soon as finances allow
are you actually licensed to sell tea now? I know you’d had a question earlier about the legalities of opening a business etc… did you get that all sorted out already?
I have not been a fan of white tea even though I knew it was the least processed and of finer leaves – mainly because I could not taste anything from it (someone help me train my tastebuds, please!)
Enter this cherry-flavored tea.
It tastes so natural. Like it’s really how white tea is meant to taste! Haha, I know that sounds weird but that’s how I feel about this tea :)

The first time I had it, I might not have followed the directions because I didn’t care for it so much. But my mom kept on asking me to prepare some, saying that it tasted good and so I made an effort to follow the directions this time.
The liquor is dark like a black tea’s.
The flavor is pleasant enough that my dad did not object to it. He is very particular to flavors.
The extra motivation for wanting this prepared: my mom’s friend has a friend who has cancer and I gave her a 2oz pouch of this. Later on we heard that her friend was wanting to get some more of it because it helped her to feel stronger. True story :)
I have to admit: the first time I had this, I brewed it beside the Blueberries and Cream.
And I kinda liked the creamy one better while they were warm. But cooled, I liked the tartness of the Blackcurrant more!
But like the BB&C, this I feel is better than the average tea in both aroma and flavor :)
Aroma: Attractive. I had a feeling this was gonna be a good one when I was just scooping out a sample for a swap.
Flavor: It did not disappoint! I like this and would buy it again before I run out of this.
I just want to say that my first EG Cream felt kinda weird like “Is this how it is supposed to taste?” but this one was….“Mmmmm, blueberries and cream!”
I think this is better taken while warm…tho it is still yummy after cooling down :)
the usual…3mins @212F for blacks. longer or shorter if you desire as this one doesnt get bitter easily, the only one with weird parameters is the gynostemma. of course greens and whites are usually marked at higher temperatures than usually recommended, and some blacks benefit from 208F more than 212F esp H&S (took me a while to figure that out)
Thanks for the note! Sometimes when i oversteep, the second steep is still ok.
My Pakistani friend who introduced me to chai always made it with milk and sugar as do my Burmese and Nepali friends so I’m kinda not used to chai without those ^^’
