Last cup of my sample. I let it steep a little longer to bring out the caramel flavor, which worked. I’m savoring it now before I have to leave for work. I see that LiberTeas has a few more tins of it up for sale, and while I would love to buy one, I’m going to a convention next week and need every dollar I can get. If it’s still there when I get back, though, it will be mine!

Yessss, I got a little more of this tea from RachanaC (A.K.A. Rachel). (So glad she was willing to give a bit of it up. I don’t know if I would have, myself, haha.) I get the urge to cling to the baggie forever, as this tea is extinct. Extinct and wonderful.

But no, it shouldn’t be that way. Someone here once said “tea is meant to be enjoyed and not hoarded”, and that stuck with me. So this is my first cup of the day. I’ve already reviewed this tea once and my love for it has not changed. I still love the realistic caramel taste, like it’s been toasted. It manages to be toasty without getting nutty, if you know what I mean. I’m going to be drinking this very, very slowly…

Next time, it gets a longer steep time.

There is a listing for one more tin left to purchase on the Tea Trade Marketplace. It is being sold by the blender herself, Anne Downen. I would buy it now before it is too late.

Tabby

!!! Thanks for the heads up!

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

No worries, took everything in me not to buy it myself.

Tabby

There are two tins left~! Just sayin’… :D

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Oh thought there was one. Hmmm thinking now

Tasting a sample cup of this thanks to LiberTeas, who sent it to me. I love anything caramel, so I was pretty excited when I saw that she had included it.

The first thing I noticed about the scent and taste of this tea is the smell of real caramel. It reminds me of how my mother makes it at home, on the stovetop. It has that sort of… not smoky exactly, but heat-involved taste, if that makes any sense. This tea is delightfully smooth and creamy without actually adding cream. I’m still finishing my first (and only) cup, and I’m a fan. Mmmm.

I think I’m going to have “Sweet Child Of Mine” stuck in my head all day now…

I didn’t find out about LiberTEAS’s company until after it had closed…yes, once I read about her blends, I had an incredible sad. LiberTEAS, bless her, kindly sent me some of her teas in a swap, and I’ve been fortunate enough to get a very small supply of her Breakfast Blend on hand (it’s the best ever, and yes, I’m hoarding the stuff).

In my awesome swap box from Meghann, she had nearly a full tin of this tucked into it, as well as my beloved Breakfast Blend!! Yes, I squealed like a little girl. Actually, probably more like a tweenage girl watching Twilight, squealing when Edward appears on the screen. You would have laughed.

I’m slightly worried about this, not going to lie. I’ve not been having the best of luck with caramel teas here lately, but I know if anyone can do a tea right, it’s LiberTEAS. After all, her Masterpiece Chai is, well, a masterpiece.

She’s not let me down. It’s bold, in your face, and awesome. Creamy and caramel, but without that “burnt” taste that I’ve been finding in other caramel blends. I’m seriously considering making a T-sac full of this, taking it to Cuppa, and begging Lisa to make me a latte out of it with caramel syrup (I’m crap at making lattes at home). This is delicious. Debating adding a smidge of sugar to this, but I honestly don’t think it needs it. Nom, nom, nom!!

Yay, glad it was another winner:)

It’s great! There’s not been a single one of her teas that I’ve tried that haven’t been fantastic.

Taking my last cup of this to work this morning… Last review, I suppose, since there isn’t any more. This unique and tasteful blend of rose, cinnamon, and vanilla will certainly be missed.

Brewed this quadruple-strong, let it steep for a good long time, and served it with cream and sugar. It’s my perfect coffee alternative this late afternoon.

Half of my tin is gone. D:

Made another pot of this last night to share between my brother, my boyfriend, and myself. Served it with vanilla cream and sugar again. Yum. This has been my go-to comfort tea lately.

I broke out my coveted purple tin of this and made a super strong cup this morning after dropping my boyfriend off at work. I added the vanilla cream I’ve been using a lot, and sugar. It was perfect… something steamy and sweet before going out into the cold to my car. There’s just something about cinnamon and autumn…

Finished my sample of this the other night with a friend and my brother. It was soothing and wonderful as always… which prompted us to buy two of the last remaining tins from LiberTEAS ‘s Artfire shop. Now I’ll be able to drink as much as I want for a while! So pumped!

Had to have another tall mug of this tonight. I have been craving it since yesterday. Not much of this left, unfortunately. :/ Will definitely miss it when it’s gone, especially since I’ve searched online for a similar combination and was unsuccessful. This was a truly unique blend.

That is incredibly tempting. I might have to buy it once I get done moving.

My first tea by the legendary LiberTEAS!

This is absolutely wonderful. I would never have thought to combine rose and cinnamon, but I love it. There is just enough rose in it, as I’ve had rose teas before that were almost peppery, but this is much better balanced. The cinnamon softens the rose and creates a really warm, delicious taste. The vanilla adds another dimension, especially in the aftertaste, and it’s just icing on the cake at this point. And the vanilla compliments the black tea’s natural taste, which just makes it even better. I’m definitely making a strong cup of this tomorrow morning before I work a double.

I’m actually really sad now that LiberTEAS isn’t in business anymore. Because yum.

mmm…I wouldn’t mind waking up to this! The aroma of cinnamon is wafting up to my nose, tempting me to try it even though I know it is still too hot to drink. The taste: Lightly sweet cinnamon black tea. At the swallow I can detect the rose; as it cools, it is even more prevalent. Quite lovely! Sweet Cinnamon Rose…delicious indeed!

Thank you Liberteas!

Jaime

Second review I’ve seen of this recently that makes me want it. Badly.

Meghann M

Oooh, yum, sounds delicious!

amandajo

Jaime, I think it is probably in very limited supply as she has gone out of business. Um, if you decide that you want it you might contact her?

Jaime

Will do. I’ve already got the last of her Breakfast Blend…best breakfast blend I’ve had by far. So sad that I didn’t find her teas until after the close…

drank Masterpiece Chai by Liber Teas

I have chai-anxiety. I really do. And I shouldn’t, since so many of the chais I’ve tried lately have been good. So I’ve brewed up a mug of *LiberTEAS*’s chai that she sent me a sample of in a fantastic swap box…and I’m sitting here sniffing it, gathering the courage to sip. The scent is very good, definitely spicy.

sigh Taste is not as spicy as I feared from the scent. It’s smooth and calming. The flavors aren’t just blended together, it’s like they’re melded into one solid taste. Nothing is standing out and screaming “I’m here, taste me, taste me!!”, and nothing is really in the background whispering “I’m here, too, but I don’t want to play right now”.

LiberTEAS, you named this one right. I think I’m more in love with the Alberta Street Chai (it’s the Lapsang Souchong, I can’t help it), but I can see myself having an on-going fling with this chai. Yet another reason I’m sad that you’ve closed up shop.

I am glad that you like it. With my dislike for Lapsang Souchong, there is no way I’d ever put it in my chai tea, but I do have to admit that I do like the Alberta Street Chai.

I named this one “masterpiece” because, quite honestly, it took me over a year to come up with a recipe for it that pleased me. :) I’m glad you’re enjoying it too!

Jaime

Wow, over a year to develop? That’s amazing to me. It was well-worth that year, to get this blend. It’s fantastic!

This getting dark earlier really messes with my internal clock. For about the next two weeks, I’ll be completely sloth-like and will only want to curl up and hibernate at the first hint of darkness in the evenings. Then I’ll get over it, and will resume a regular sleep schedule (hopefully with no insomnia spells). So I’m going to have a big pot of this to soothe me to sleep tonight…it’s definitely perfect for that.

LiberTEAS sent this as part of a swap…needless to say, I’m excited to try it.

This definitely wins the “flowery chamomile” category in my search for the perfect chamomile. The lavender and honeybush really make this a fantastic blend. It’s not overpoweringly flower; it’s gentle and soothing. It’s something your mom or grandma would pull out and make for you after you’ve had a really long day and need a hug.

Halfway through the pot, I can already tell that this is going to help me sleep good tonight!! Thanks, LiberTEAS, for sending some my way!!

I love your description “something mom or grandma would pull out”. It made me smile:)

Jaime

I really want to make another pot, but I want to savor this so it doesn’t go quickly. I didn’t see it on the site…and I have to wait until Friday (payday) for the Breakfast Blend (that I’m hoarding the sample of and trying to conserve).

Ahhh…I needed this sweet rich black tea this morning. I really do enjoy caramel teas. This tin is slowly dwindling away :(

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Funny, I had the same thing this morning and said the same thing to myself. Good stuff that’s for sure.

I think I let this steep too long this morning, or used too much leaf. It was pretty astringent and tannin tasting. I could still smell the sweet sticky caramel, but the aftertaste was all tannins. I’ll have to watch it more closely, or throw in a spoonful of honey next time!

LiberTEAS

How long did you let it steep? Because this has Assam in it, I recommend only steeping for 2 1/2 minutes… 3 max, because it does get pretty tannic otherwise.

Meghann M

It was totally user error. I let it go longer than 2 1/2 minutes, more like 4 as I was rushing around this morning. It made my car smell really good, and it was good at waking me up this morning, I just liked the first cup I made accurately much much better!

Mmmm this is wonderful, really hits the spot. I was craving a sweet dessert tea this afternoon and this was waiting for me in my mailbox. Thanks to the SororiTea Sisteres blog contest I get to enjoy this richly caramel tea along with a tin of Liberteas British Breakfast tea. Much thanks for the tea!

Cofftea

Good choice!

LiberTEAS

I’m glad you enjoyed it! And CONGRATS again on winning!

Elyse

Ohh! This looks good. My Boyfriend LOVES caramel.

Kryptryx

I think I am going to have sneak out of the box, and try some caramel tea. And then some chocolate tea.

Cofftea

Kryptryx- and then mix them! If you also like coffee, might I recommend Caramel LatTEA and Mocha LatTEA (they als have a Chai LatTEA) From Dr. Tea’s Tea Garden. If you like cayenne and chai, might I recommend 52teas’ Mayan Chocolate Chai.

LiberTEAS

For those of you who are interested in this tea, I only have ONE 2 oz tin left of it at the moment. I might be reblending this one more time, but I can’t guarantee it.
