Another mamaki tisane! I think I have one more left after this?
This was very similar to how I remember the other brand tasting, so it’s nice that it’s consistent. Very light and airy, almost reminding me a bit of a white tea? Some very soft hay notes, gentle grain flavors, a touch of milk and honey. It’s interesting because the aroma while it was steeping was quite herbaceous and grassy, but there’s no trace of that in the taste.
I find this sort of mellow herbal very relaxing before bed, so I’ve been enjoying these mamaki tisanes. The last one I have is a blend, so it’ll be interesting to see how the mamaki interacts with other ingredients.

Picked up this small pouch in Hawai’i, randomly at a bakery we visited.
It’s honestly so delicious, I was shocked. Have I never had lemongrass plain, is it always this good? It’s like someone took a lemon drop and made it into a fluffy marshmallow cloud. So light and and airy but still full of sweet lemon flavor. Soft, mellow, oh-so-comforting. And surprisingly doesn’t have much of an herbal note at all…
So now I feel the need to try some plain lemongrass from another company to see if I have the same reaction to it, since this one doesn’t seem to be available online. Anyone have any recommendations?

You could try iherb or NM tea co. I bought some from San Fran herb, but you have to buy a lot they only sell in bulk. I find lemongrass takes the edge off bitter teas, and I like it blended with camomile. It’s great iced too.
I’ve been reading these Hawaiian tisane reviews with great interest—all of the herbs are new to me!
