A sipdown! (M: 5, Y: 5)
Sipdown prompt: A CTC tea
A single last tea bag I had in my black tea box. Forgotten a bit.
Also I am surprised that I haven’t wrote a single note about this one. But well, there isn’t anything to write about. It’s tea. Tea-ish tea with bitter aftertaste.
Honestly, not impressed. But every sipdown counts.
Preparation
When two do the same, it’s never the same! Czech proverb
And it suits so well for this tea. Look at Jaf Tea version and read the tasting notes from Roswell Strange and me, and then read this note.
Sadly, in my cup there is nothing that reminds me mango and/or banana. It’s generic tropical fruit flavour, with very weak flavour level. Sadly it doesn’t even smell much after those fruits. At least the base is good. Smooth and grass seed like; so I did not had to toss it out and I have luckily also only one tea bag left.
Next tea please!
Flavors: Grass Seed, Tropical Fruit
Preparation
Uh, so high “highs” here. During the day it hits 25-30 centigrade. In May? Are they crazy up there?
Anyway, I am so busy at work, and my exam is coming up (18th May), so I have decided to take week off, however I am not really sure if I will be able to be out of thoughts completely. I am afraid I will check the emails at least now and then.
The tea I have prepared yesterday and I found out they have it in the Gourment series as well, so it is available as loose leaf too. However, I had “just a tea bag”. A fine one, but well, there are some flaws.
First of all, the flavour is weak and somehow generic tropical instead of mangoes. Strawberries aren’t much present at all. The base is quite basic, somehow mineral and hay, instead of fresh grassy green tea.
So, in conclusion, do not expect flavour bursts of mango nor strawberry, base is basic, but fine drink.
Preparation
SIPDOWN
How easy… when you have only two tea bags. So, today i have finished second one.
Anyway, it is nothing to write home about. It is pretty basic black tea base with little tartness and little fruitiness. I was expecting stronger berry profile and maybe even a little more juicy. Sadly, it is not.
Flavors: Cranberry, Raspberry, Tea
Preparation
From CGFoods order, Mini faves box named Delish red. Rarely, this is one of the teas that Hyson offers also as a loose leaf.
I was in a mood for green tea and flavoured opinion sounded good for me as well.
It is fine… but flavours aren’t much present. I am not sure if I was able to recognize kiwi if it wasn’t listed and strawberry was present, but it was that flavouring kind… no juicy, fresh strawberry and instead just some aroma of it. And moreso, dull one.
Well, lots of to improve here!
Preparation
Yup, this is a blend I would never ever order myself. I got it only because it is part of Hyson Mini faves small tea boxes, usually with a variety of tea bags.
However, decided to brew it as it is already an evening here (how so?) and I wanted to try something new. Combination of only mint and chamomile is uncommon for me, but I was checking the database, it is not that uncommon at all?! Chamomile — is usually a big no for me. Bagged mint — not having great experience with them (with a few exceptions).
However to the Hyson’s tea. It turned out gold, pretty clear colour. Smells very medicinal, lightly reminding me hospital desinfections. The taste is… expected. Musty mint. Light on menthol. Chamomile sweetness and its common taste which I certainly not adore.
I am happy that I have only one tea bag left.

I taste Lemons, Flowers, and Green Ceylon tea!
All in all, a decent tea. i rate a 70/100

Flavors: Flowers, Green, Lemon
Preparation
Winter Wine is packed nicely into a tin caddy with a Hyson tea spoon, making it great value for money on face value. The flavour is an incredibly strong black tea, peppered with fruity and floral notes. There’s a heavy berry note to Winter Wine, however it isn’t reminiscent of the actual flavour of wine. I didn’t really enjoy this and neither did my flat mate, it tasted awful!
