My boyfriend told me to get this one because he has it at work and he says it’s really good for when you’re sick.
I accidentally uploaded the wrong picture for this (helpfully, Higher Living uses the exact same design and colors for their Lemon & Ginger blend….), and then of course Steepster doesn’t let you change the default picture. I uploaded the right one for it, but you have to click on the tea and then click on Other Images to see it.
I was crazy anxious last night, and it helped a lot. It’s soothing and surprisingly mild. It almost has a sugar cookie taste to it. The longer you let it steep, the better it gets.
Very good for anyone who wants the benefits of ginger without the intense spiciness.
Flavors: Cookie, Ginger, Lemon Zest
Something made this bitter after I stepped it too long (the cinnamon, is that even possible?) but otherwise this is a lovely, rich tea, with only a hint of heat. A new favorite treat.
There sure do seem to be a lot of organic tea companies based in the UK! This one, Higher Living, looks very similar to Pukka, what with the percentage breakdowns of herbal ingredients and the colorful, upbeat packaging.
Lemon & Ginger brews up cloudy gold and is very close in flavor to Stash Lemon Ginger. Imagine that! The ginger tastes like powdered ginger (which of course it is—this is a filter bag), so though it is pretty strong (39%), it does not really have the zing of a fresh ginger infusion.
Perfectly fine as a functional tea when fresh ginger is not on hand.
(Blazing New Rating #29)
Flavors: Ginger, Lemon, Licorice

I have another dumb question… Where do you find the percentages of the ingredients? All I ever see is the ingredients in order of amounts.
The teapees are nice and large with a very see through organza so you can see the quality and ingredients perfectly. It has a highly perfumed bergamot and rose scent that is sweet and thick.
Ingredients: Organic Black Tea, Organic Rose Petals, Natural Bergamot Flavour, Natural Rose Flavour.
Steeping instructions: Use one teapee with freshly boiled water for 4-5 minutes.
Sampling this tea with a drop of milk.
In flavour this tea matches it’s scent very well. The tea is perfumed and thick with dominant bergamot and soft, sweet rose tones which linger in the after taste. As a whole the ingredients taste pure and natural which leaves my mouth with crystal clear flavours. It is a little unusual to have rose in an Earl Grey but it works well with this, it adds a nice level of sweetness. It is also a little sour but the milk helps to smooth a lot of it out.

The teapees are nice and large with a very see through organza so you can see the quality and ingredients perfectly. It has a refreshing spearmint scent that is strong, fresh and sweet.
Ingredients: Organic Yerba Mate, Organic Spearmint, Organic Cocoa Shells, Organic Ginkgo, Organic Siberian Ginseng, Organic Cayenne Pepper.
Steeping instructions: Use one teapee with freshly boiled water for 4-5 minutes.
In flavour this tea has sweet spearmint notes that linger over a lightly spicy, herbal flavour. The ingredients that stand out the most in flavour are the spearmint, cayenne pepper and ginseng. The Mate is not too heavy or dark for this blend but it does add some depth, more than just a herbal tea would have been.
As it cools this blend becomes smooth which increases it’s sweetness. The herbal elements are toned down also. I’m seeing it as being a mint tea with a difference, and frankly I love mint tea but this blend has taken it to another level. Plus the tingle from the cayenne in the after taste is spot on, subtle but invigorating.

Tony (my awesome man of 13 years) actually made his first tea order!
He’s been drinking London Tea Room’s ‘Jubilee’, which is an earl grey, for quite some time. He used to drink English breakfast, until he tried earl grey, & now that’s pretty much all he will drink. So he was at a coffeeshop & they had an earl from Ahmad tea, which he really enjoyed, so he ordered some. He knows I like breakfast blends so he ordered some of their English Breakfast for me (because he once heard me say, “There’s no point only ordering one tea. If you’re paying for shipping you might as well order 2 or 3”). I’ve never tried Ahmad teas, so there’s something to look forward to.
This tea came out of Traveling Tea Box ‘A’. I wanted something caffeine free for the evening, so I kept 2 bags. I double bagged it, & I’m glad because there really isn’t a lot there, flavor-wise. I also added stevia, & that helped. It’s ok, passable, & probably my last tea of the night.
Ahmad has a couple of good stout breakfast teas I like muchly: Warwick Assam and Hampton Breakfast (which hits you in the muzzly, sleepy face with a truncheon).
I’m not exactly sure what he ordered for me, something breakfast related. I don’t see him much during the week, even though he only lives 5 minutes away, LOL. Maybe that’s why we’ve managed to stay together for so long! ;)
Anyways, I have a valentines gig tonight, then I’ll stop over for a few hours & see what he bought & although it will be late for drinking it, I’ll at least take a whiff!
At first i loved this tea because the chamomile taste is so subtle, but i’ve decided that the result of that is less benefit for my heartburn, and the tea doesn’t really taste like much of anything in the end. The bag smelled strongly of fennel, but that taste wasn’t present in the tea. The only thing i can really taste is the sweet vanilla flavor, which rings as somewhat artificial. I wonder what exactly gives the tea its sweetness. It’s kind of creamy and not unpleasant in any way, but the flavor is so weak that i can’t really say that this tea is worthwhile.
Hard to find a tea with a strong, but not fake vanilla taste. This is it! At least, for an herbal tea. Great for unwinding. One ingredient listed is “lime flower”, which is also known as linden flower. The overall taste is caramelly, which is nice. I don’t LOVE chamomile, and you really can barely taste it in this.

Mmm! Alright – I am sagacious in my favorite teas, I know, but this one is a definite keeper! A complexly-flavored black tea that has nothing in comparison with the Kroger/Scott’s brand of English Black Tea. Although not very interesting in terms of smell, the flavor is – whoa, intense and delicious!
Let me tell you – this is a tea to take with cream and sugar, but by all means, try it out plain first. Both ways are delicious.
A bold flavored black tea that really makes a lesser blend look gross by comparison.
Preparation
Came in a box with three other blends of Higher Living Teas, at the TJ Maxx next to where I work. It’s not infused with honey or vanilla or chocolate or even cinnamon – just a simple green tea. Even the box’s art reflects the simplicity that this tea was aiming for – very low-key.
I have to say that I was not given a wrong perspective of what this tea was gonna be like – it’s simple and does not have the “wow” factor that the chamomile with vanilla had. Well, its a perfectly good, albeit plain, green tea, and if that’s what you’re looking for, then Higher Living has a good plain one – one that will probably be grand as an iced tea, likely really good with a hearty meal. As I made it, hot, it’s nothing to write home about.
Preparation
I got this in a sampler of other Higher Living teas and at the time, thought nothing of it. When the tea I had planned to drink was, um, ripped, I decided to make this my back up. Now, I have heard that people actually ENJOY drinking Chamomile, but the only chamomile I’ve ever drunk was the terrible blend that Celestial Seasonings makes. Seriously, that blend tastes like chewing on wildflowers and a pinch of dirt, and I worried that that is how chamomile generally tastes. Well, after trying this tea out, I want to say that I now get the liking for chamomile.
The over powering taste of flora is not so potent in this tea, and you can taste all kinds of desserty stuff in the tea. I really couldn’t decide whether it tastes better cold or hot, I decided that they both taste great.
Good luck with your mid terms, every one!
Preparation
Smooth, soothing chamomile is definitely the focus of this blend but there are also some sweet vanilla notes that mix well with the apple/herbal flavours of the chamomile. There’s also a licorice note but it’s nice and subtle and I can smell it in the dry tea bag more than I can taste it in the brewed tea. This tea also seems to work great for relaxing me after a long day at work, which is certainly appreciated!
