#tiffanys2021sipdown Tea #141 overall / Tea #12 for April
Friday 04/09/21 — good earth sweet & spicy teabags 8 in old brew 32 oz pitcher. I remember enjoying this tea before hot but I made a pitcher enough for Micah and I to have a cold brew mug. It was strong but good, I know he enjoyed the cinnamon to it.

Came home, with headache again. I was drinking so less? I had whole thermos of tea. Anyway, time for caffeine tea. I took this one I received from Derk. TY!
When opened strong cinnamon aroma struck my nose. It reminds me some kind of sweets, or some tea – Harney and Sons I had few years back in train? I wonder, but it smells familiar. Brewed for 4-5 minutes, nice darker golden (maybe honey) colour. In aroma it is very sweet wtih cinnamon. Maybe little notes of “fresh” – peppermint.
Anyway when it comes to flavour – it is artificial, sweet with little notes of cinnamon. Black tea non existent. I don´t say I don´t like it, but it is not really my cup of tea – as I am drinking teas plain. It tastes like two cubes of sugar are in. I hope I don´t get heartburn. Somehow unlucky tea day today.
Anyway, quote is quite nice: “Ignorance of certain subjects is a great part of wisdom” Hugo de Groot (1583 – 1645)
But I can ignore that sweetness Mr. de Groot.

:( to your headaches. I hope you can see a doctor (if you haven’t already). I once had headaches (which I never have) and it was cause I had high blood pressure during a stressful job. Feel better soon.
This is some old ass tea. Best by Jan 2013.
Made a pot using three bags for me and the two housemates after dinner. The pineapple, mango and peach flavorings were pretty strong and melded well while still allowing the earthy and grassy green tea to come through. I also tasted a light jasmine breeze underneath, though there’s no mention of jasmine flavoring being in this tea. The lemongrass, flowers and cinnamon were not detectable but maybe they served as a bridge between the taste of an earthy green tea and brighter fruit flavors.
For a flavored green tea, this was pretty good.
With a quick search of the webz, it looks like this tea has been discontinued.
Flavors: Earth, Grass, Jasmine, Mango, Peach, Pineapple
One of my school thermos teas today. Not much black tea character was discernible but it did have a good body. Here and there, fleeting hints of butter and orange emerged. I wish I could tell if the herbs and spices were a good blend but the artificial cinnamon flavor overwhelmed my senses.
True to it’s name, the tea was (lightly) Sweet and Spicy. Compared to the caffeine-free version and the Good Night blend, the artificial cinnamon flavor wasn’t as strong, which I appreciated. That could be due the age of the bag, though. One thing this tea did have going for it besides the body was it couldn’t be oversteeped, sitting in 205F water for an hour, nor did it have a dry finish like the Good Night.
Not something I’d buy but I can see it appealing to fans of cinnamon teas.

One of my friends who moved away sent this to me in a letter, which I recieved today. I have tasted it before, but thought I would review it now. The cinnamon and allspice is POTENT in this !! Very spicy!! Not many other notes, but when you are jonesing for a sugar free cinnamon heart this is the tea for you!!
Steeped 10 mins. Drank plain. Caffeine free.
This is the first time I have tried a tea anything like this. I loved it. Even if it didn’t taste good, I probably would have used up the box steeping it for the smell. I was pleasantly suprised with the taste. I think it tastes a lot like Big Red chewing gum. It has the same feel on the tongue. I was a little concerned that it would give me indigestion or heartburn, but it was very soothing. I probably would only drink this in the winter. It is great after coming in from shoveling snow.
The name pretty much says it all! This tea is supposed to have orange in it, but all I taste is super sweet, super spicy cinnamon, as if I melted a bunch of Red Hots into my cup. A bit too over-the-top for me.

Good Earth Original’s Sweet & Spicy blend is to this day the best tea I have ever tasted. It is a blend of a of herbal (chamomile, peppermint, jasmine green tea) and black tea. The tea can be brewed to taste preference and only gets stronger (not bitter) the longer you leave it in. I’m partial to the full body flavor of the cinnamon and orange and let the tea steep overnight. It has a very pleasant cinnamon aroma that will undoubtedly attract the attention of fellow tea drinkers. I have nothing but good things to say about this product!

Wowza! Sweet, indeed! Red hot candy sweet. (Note to self: lighten up on the steep time.)
This was a treat from a friend; it’s her new favorite office go-to. May be a good’un for cold and flu season, as you can feel the heat radiate down your throat. Have been improvising for the better part of the week with microwaves and Keurig water and this is strong enough to overcome it.
When first brewed it has an overwhelming cinnamon smell. After it cools down for a bit I’m tasting mostly cinnamon with an aftertaste that I think is the rooibos. It might be good if prepared chai-style with milk/sugar, but taken plain it’s rather underwhelming.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Rooibos
Last Sunday the high was 95. But finally, FINALLY, we have autumn weather. It is 48 degrees and drizzly, so perfect weather for a spicy tea.
This remains one of my faves. On Monday I started radiation for the cancer spots in my lung. I’ve been battling cancer since 2020 so radiation isn’t new for me. last time it took 15 treatments before the extreme fatigue kicked in but this time after treatment #2 I was swimming around in a fog and falling asleep by afternoon break time. This time is only 5 treatments. I guess my body didn’t want to procrastinate.
This tea is absolutely lovely. And going through radiation is the perfect excuse to be utterly lazy. Naps a wonderful things.
Permission universally granted for you to curl up and rest all you need under your favorite blankie this weekend!
I made a pot of this tonight and drank it out of my fancy teacup from Taiwan. This tea never disappoints me. Soon spring will be here and then I will want my fruity teas. But it is -1 F right now, so I will get to enjoy my spicy teas for a while longer.
I am sick to death of being sick. I thought I was getting a cold, but after several days of ickiness, my ear started to really hurt. Went to the walk in clinic and found out it is an ear infection and a sinus infection. They didnt’ give me antibiotics!! They said it should resolve itself in 5-7 days. I could take Tylenol and apply warm compresses. Well, I woke up yesterday with gunk on my pillow and a crusty ear. The ear hurts less. The fever is gone. I still feel like crap.
All that was to whine and cry “Poor me!” I had this tea last night. I had to open a new box. Sure glad I picked up another box when my friend was here. I enjoyed it as usual. I think I am bringing out the Cold 911 next. Excuse me while I carry my kleenex box over to my TV watching chair and drink more tea.
Oh dear! Check out Massage by Heather on YouTube and try her lymphatic drainage massage perhaps. I have sent a couple of ear infections on the run that way, but never as advanced as yours. It sounds like your ear drum ruptured, but maybe it will help with sinuses draining to do the massage. My doctor approved of it for me, anyway. I hope it may help and may you feel much better very soon.
I am exhausted. Spent a little over 4 hours at mom’s tonight washing walls and going through the crap my sister and her daughter left behind when they moved. Progress is being made. Very good progress. The move has been postponed from Saturday to Sunday because we are expecting snow on Saturday. So, one more day to do some sorting and packing at my apartment. One thing I need to pack is my tea stash. Oy!
When I came home tonight I was dragging, and a migraine had developed on the drive home. I took a shower and put on a clean flannel nightie and I made a cup of this tea. I know its a bagged tea, but it is one of my favorites. The name Sweet &
Spicy is the perfect description of this. If the red hots candy could be liquified, they would taste just like this tea! I know I already have too much tea, but I’m down to only one more bag of this. I will need to pick up another box.
Since I keep my bagged tea in a different location from my loose leaf tea, I almost forget I have them. Decided on this one for tonight. Couldn’t smell it, dang it. I remember it smelling like red hots. It still tastes sweet and spicy, just like the name. It actually tastes just like a red cinnamon candy heartI’m glad I went with this one instead of the peppermint herbal tea.
Preparation
I’ve loved this tea for the past 20 years. Even before I was a tea lover I loved this tea. Naturally sweet, spicy, warm and comforting, this is the perfect evening tea. It steeps very quickly, and I prefer a weaker tea. This one is just about perfect in a minute, and I usually get two or even steeps from one bag. Even that short steep produces a rich, flavorful cup. When I say spicy, I mean, it tastes like liquid cinnamon red hots. Yum!
Preparation
i’m someone who really loves super strong, super spicy teas, so this is PERFECT. It steeps really really quickly so be on your toes, but it’s amazing! It’s got a lot of kick but a good bit of sweetness too. I usually only need 1 packet of stevia for it, but it’s super delicious, especially in the morning with some orange slices :D
Flavors: Cinnamon, Citrus, Spicy, Sweet
Preparation
The main flavor is cocoa (not “chocolate” but if you’ve ever tasted unsweetened cocoa powder it tastes like that). The other spices emerge after longer steeping. It’s not what I typically think of as “chai” (which is heavy on the cinnamon and cardamom), but it’s “chai-like”.
If you’re looking for something more chocolatey, try this instead: http://steepster.com/chai-mera/posts/299406
