Not sure why but this sort of smells like Pineapple. It’s a pleasant scent so I don’t mind. The dry loose leaf mixture swells quite a bit when wet. There is a little murkiness to the after-steep.
The taste is nice and even and thirst quenching and sweet even. Yup! It’s fairly juicy. I like this one the more I drink it. I’m glad there is no grassy aftertaste…or bitter aftertaste. It tastes the same from the beginning to the end of the sip.
MOVE OVER Adagio’s Fuijan Baroque and Adagio’s Yunnan Jig…Mama’s gotta new bag!!! :) This seems to taste a little bit like both of Adagio’s Teas but better and together…It strange but lovely how it seems to be but it is! This is truly MARVY!
It’s bready/cakey sweetness with a certainly chewiness to it that I can’t get past! YUM. It’s Malty and the warmth lingers well after the sip. This is truly terrific!
Preparation
Okay Lori and I have been in search of the perfect Golden Monkey tea. How does this compare to Teas Etc and Adagio GM? We like malty.
There’s just something special about nearly all of the Georgia Tea Company Teas I have tried so far…intensely scented and I LOVE THAT!!!!
Coconut, almond and vanilla…and in that order is what’s going on with the aroma of this tea! WOW! I know there HAS to be a Christmas Cookie that is popular that smells JUST LIKE this – but I am unsure of the name.
This is a medium strength flavored black that is very much tasting like a cookie with those same ingredients in it…coconut, almond, and vanilla…it’s great! You have to really like coconut but if you do AND I DO please check it out!!! It’s a nice treat and the customer service over at Georgia Tea Company is wonderful.
I will be posting more on my blog this week about Georgia Tea Company so check out http://teaequalsbliss.blogspot.com and “follow me”.
Preparation
I’m sticking this on my shopping list based on this review alone. Coconut, almond, AND vanilla? I’m sold.
Where did you hear about this company (and all the other seemingly random companies you keep coming up with!)?
@Angela – I know!!!! You can’t go wrong with that trio of flavors! It’s too early to be drooling over tea haha
It sounds like it – which is good because it is always nice to hear about quality vendors. So yay for you and your random companies! :)
I’m looking for tea that tastes as close to a macaroon as it can get—and this sounds like it fits the bill!
Oh! There is so much to say about this one…where to start???
I’ve had some not-so-good experiences with sleepytime type teas – you know those Celestial Seasoning bagged types…well…Thank the Tea gods for this!!! It’s very good!
I usually don’t go for Chamomile but the other ingredients push forward and make this work nicely! I truly believe it’s the orange that changed it around for me…it’s what makes it stand out compared to the ‘others’ and for that I am truly grateful!
This is a nice bold deep color with a calming chamomile, rooibos, and orange type scent. The taste is herbal but orange and the natural sweetness of the rooibos is present in the background. The Peppermint is a wonderful assist but not the focus of the mixture.
Daniel told me he was proud of this one…as he should be! This is a mighty fine herbal and a great cuppa for the evenings!
Cardamom, Fennel, and Rose are the primary tastes. This is a true herbal. I understand it is very good for you but not my favorite tastes in a tisane, usually. This, however, was drinkable, just not what I would usually go for. VERY glad I got to try this and it is very calming…
It’s was so-so…serves a purpose :)
I’m glad you could finish a cup of this stuff, because I sure can’t. Heh. I can’t stand these Ayruvedic teas, but I have certain customers who are very much into Ayruvedic healing and all that jazz and they love them. Well, they can keep them! I’ll stick to my peppermint. :)
Oh, and so you know, all the rest of the Ayruvedic teas we have, are very herbally like this one, so you’re probably not missing much, lol. Every time I open their tins I feel like I’m in an herb shop in China.
I have been intrigued by champagne infused teas and I am very excited to try this one! I have tried Raspberry Champagne Tea from 2 other companies so far and have really like them…
This one is going to be another one that I like I can see it now! Or should I say TASTE it now!?
This one is a bit more floral smelling AND tasting that the other one I like from Compass Teas. But it’s still quite unique and tasty. I can taste the WHITE Tea, floral notes, and Raspberry. Very Nice!
Preparation
Great review, I’ve always found it difficult to find a very good flavored white tea. The best I’ve ran across is Divine Temple, which is my best seller, it cheats a little bit though since it does have a little green tea and dried fruits mixed in, but it is one of my favorite teas of all time. The Champagne Raspberry White was not quiet as flavorful as I was expecting but it’s great for those who love the subtle taste of white teas to begin with. I do have a pomegranate white tea which is pretty good too, if I have any in stock…
Hi Daniel! As you see…I got the awesome box!!! Thanks so much! I’m LOVING your selection…it’s awesome! :)
I will continue with my first tastes here tomorrow on some of the other and will start posting more lengthy reviews on the other sites. There’s a possibility of an additional site as well and I will keep you posted about that if it proceeds! Thanks again!!!! You guys are great!
Thank you! I’m glad you are enjoying them. I’m loving your reviews, very honest. I have more to send you in a few days, I just got a few new ones in that I want you to try. So I’ll keep you posted on those.
This is a creamy smelling white tea and I can’t wait to try it!
It’s very light in color and a nice delicate aroma. It’s very clean tasting with a little bit of a pleasant nutty flavor. There seems to be something almost candied about it tho. Regardless it’s quite good and I’m pleased. YUM.
Preparation
Oh.My.Gawd. Seriously…the scent alone…I WANT TO SWIM IN THIS! :)
One of my favorite Soy Milks is a Chocolate Peppermint Stick type that is only available seasonally…well…this is DARNED close to a scent double!
This is CRAZY Dark Brown in color! Intensely scented. Oh-My-Oh-My! Can’t wait to try this…infusion…don’t take much longer…
This is Chocolatey-Minty-Marvel in a cup! It’s not a milky-smooth chocolate altho it might be if you were to add milk or creamer…but it’s just enough chocolate to say HELLO…chocolate…Nice To See You Again! The minty is lovely! It’s smooth and it kind of reminds me of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream which happens to be my fave! :P
Oh yes! This is very nice! Ahhhhhh! Refreshing AND chocolate and smooth and MINT.
Preparation
There’s just something about the aroma of these wonderful Georgia Tea Company Teas…LOVE the aromas!!!!
This smells like Mango and spice at first sniff! Once infused Mango! It ‘brews’ dark and the loose leaf looks just like the product description picture! Lovely! I have a HONKIN’ HUGE chunk of Mango in this cupsworth! YAY!
This is a bold, flavorful back with lovely Mango flavors! What a treat! YUM!
Preparation
WHOA. Okay…so…Cofftea was the first to point out that I’m high on caffeine today! Usually it’s SoccerMom…lol…LOVE IT!
Oddly enough, for once, it IS kicking in…usually it doesn’t have an affect on me. But then again WALKING ON SUNSHINE is playing on the radio and it’s beautiful out today so that probably has SOMETHING to do with it too…WOW! RAMBLE MUCH!?
LOL
So…on to the review…
I opened my sample of this and, again, the whiff of the flavored tea HIT me! Intense flavors! Cranberry and Peach! You can clearly see the ingredients of this flavored black. The slivers of peach are HUGE and the Cranberry is certainly there…smaller but more frequent throughout the loose leaf blend.
It’s lighter in color for a black…barely what I would classify as a medium brown once infused. It smells like Black Tea, Cranberry and Peach, and a bit floral, even.
I think it smells (after infusion) more peach than Cranberry but when it comes to the taste – I think it tastes more cranberry than peach….but both still present. This is tasty! I’m confident it will be yummy iced too…one of these days I will put it to the test! But for now I’m drinking it hot! :) Nom.
If you like flavored blacks, and more importantly, if you like cranberries and peach…give this a whirl!!!
Preparation
lol awesome tea days rule. i just packed most of the samples, just gotta throw in few more that i keep in my office tomorrow. and then croatian tea is on the way ;) kinda doubt it can compete with these but you just never know…
I’m starting my tea with this today. I still have lots of new teas to try but none of them are black teas. I need some black tea this morning…so…I will be trying to make the switch earlier in the day today.
The leaves look like they could be infused a 2nd time so i am going to try that today…stay tuned for 2nd infusion notes.
As for this time…
Smoky but still black tea tasting. Reminds me of camping! This is YUMMY. SMoky but not too smokey. Just right.
Preparation
This is my first tea from Georgia Tea Company – Their customer service is AWESOME!!!
As soon as I opened the bag I was slapped with the smokiness! Once I infused it it was more of a slight smokiness! It ‘brews’ very quickly. It’s dark in color…dark brown with a slight reddish glow.
I only infused for 3 minutes…just because…I will tinker with more times later but I really like it at 3 minutes. It’s very flavorful. It’s smoky but not too smoky and it’s bold. It’s more than JUST smoky tho…it’s black tea WITH the smoke…not JUST smoke, ya know!?
I really like this one! Probably my 2nd favorite Smoky Tea so far
Preparation
Mark T Wendell’s :P – BUT that is a Lap.Souchong…this is not…so…I guess they are a different class?!?!?!
I think Russian Caravan-esque teas always have a little lapsang in them, don’t they? Or maybe just the few I’ve run across? Or maybe I just gravitate towards the extra smoky ones. And looks like I’ll have to try some Mark T Wendell smoky in the future! You are so dangerous to my wallet! :P
Peppermint and Rooibos are my two favorite teas to begin with, so when you put them together, I really get excited. I love the added health benefit of the rooibos, although I usually drink a hot cup of straight organic peppermint. There are visible orange peels in the tea blend and it has a aromatic scent of strong citrus and peppermint. I don’t particularly like chamomile flavor, so it’s great that the peppermint and rooibos greatly overshadow it’s musty flavor. I would recommend this to anyone that loves mint.
Preparation
It’s my second most sold rooibos. Very good. It’s fruity with blueberries and currants, if you like that sort of thing. But for anyone out there that doesn’t know, don’t add milk or cream to this tea, it will instantly curtle. That’s typically true with any tea that contains real berries.
curtle…haha…a funny yet gross word… thanks for the heads up! The flavored Rooibos sounds interesting still! Knowing how intensely scented your stuff is I’m sure it smells FAB!!!
yes, it’s up there with the most aromatic teas that I have. Very nice smelling. I use to tell my customers that my job provided free aroma therapy to all employees. Heh. The customers use to chuckle at me when I opened the tins and paused to smell the tea myself before I would let them smell it. :P
