2022 Sipdown 70/365!
Mastress Alita’s Sipdown Challenge February 2022: Tea gifted to you
Stretching for this one a bit too, and counting a swap sample from the lovely Roswell Strange for this prompt. It’s not bad, but rooibos is never a favourite. The ginger is pretty light, which is probably ok – it’s mostly a creamy coconut rooibos.

Mastress Alita’s Sipdown Challenge February 2022: Cherry tea
A generous share from Roswell Strange – thank you!
Ran across this last night and remembered the cherry tea prompt, so it was a good time to try it! Unfortunately, this tea tastes like straight-up hibiscus. Like Raspberry Zinger. I mean, it’s not terrible, and would probably be tasty sweetened (because hibiscus sweetened is good!), but as-is, it doesn’t really resemble cherry pie at all.
2022 Sipdown 31/365!
Teabag courtesy of Roswell Strange. I picked this out of my box randomly tonight because it’s caffeine-free, and it turned out to have a pretty decent strawberry-kiwi flavour.
ETA: Resteeped really well! I got an extra 2 or 3 cups that were fairly tasty.

A is for…Assam Mokalbari
Inspired by Mastress Alita and her sipdown thread challenge to drink a tea starting with each letter of the alphabet throughout April. I pre-picked my teas by organizing my spreadsheet by alphabetical order and choosing (one of) the oldest tea(s) for that letter. This tea is from December 2019 but has a best before date from back in November 2020, so it may not be at its best, thus probably good time to be drinking it down.
It’s very astringent and coppery. Brisk is how I would describe it and brisk, for me at least, is usually a bad thing. I am glad I got to try it but I am even more glad to be saying good bye since this is not for me. Thank you Roswell Strange for the chance to try it!
Aww I love your “A is for” ha ha! I don’t drink Assam often, I have a few from Capital Tea Ltd. that I still need to open…

This is one of those blends that has a bunch of herbal ingredients that sound like they should be in a potion. It’s not for me because it also tastes like a mess of herbal ingredients, but sweet, thanks to the blackberry leaf. Always fun to try new things so thank you Roswell Strange for the share but the one teabag was more than enough.

Made this in one of my new T2 teacups and I know it’s in my head but I think that made this taste better. It’s got a nice strawberry candy flavor but the green tea base coupled with the currant is coming off sharp and drying. Still enjoyable enough though so thank you Roswell Strange for sharing!

This came to me from Roswell Strange like all the other Floragold blends. Thanks for sharing!
Today when I was trying to randomly pick teas, I kept getting either orange teas or teas with plum. I decided to steep this up and then because I had orange on the brain, I decided to finally try an orange Julius. My brother-in-law is out grabbing that now so I’m trying to squeeze in this quick note.
I liked the plum part of this. It was juicy and ripe and what I think plums taste like. I don’t eat them often so my memory of them probably isn’t accurate. The jasmine part ruins this for me though. It’s not terrible but the jasmine can be drying and I feel it detracts from the tastier plum notes, rather than complimenting them. Also as this cools, there is a sharp note that cuts right through the plum in a metallic sort of way and I’m not a fan.
London Fog Sipdown (249)
This was a standard EG so unsurprisingly it had very little appeal to me. The London Fog wasn’t bad but I wasn’t in the mood for the EG flavor so even that was just meh. Thank you for sharing, Roswell Strange but I am fine saying good bye to this one.

“Literal shits and farts” wasn’t quite what I got, unlike Roswell Strange. However, I didn’t like it. Cinnamon and woody rooibos and just not good. Also, I might have tossed my cannabis powder into this and it covered it up the least. So cinnamon, woody rooibos, and a touch of weed. Bad. Bad all around. But I finished it because the powder is expensive. At least I am calm now. Nonetheless, thank you Roswell Strange for sharing and giving me the chance to try something new!

I was doing my random tea generation to help pick a tea and this was the one I ended up pulling out. It’s another Floragold so like all others, it’s from Roswell Strange! Thank you!!
First off, I walked past my BIL with this tea and he commented how good it smelled. Because it does smell good. It tastes nice as well though the coconut is a little past it’s prime as this is a touch lotiony. Also, ginger was like a subtle warmth in the mug but I found myself wanting more. So this one was good but not great, partially due to age though.

This is another Roswell Strange share that I finished the other day. I had a much better experience with this tea than I did with Dandelion Detox though. This is a rooibos cream blend and while the rooibos flavor came through, it wasn’t as offensive as so many others I have had lately. It was a nice vanilla cream flavor that worked well with the rooibos – which was neither woodsy or medicinal. I was surprised but quite pleased with this one. Thank you for sharing Roswell Strange!

Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing this and all other Floragold teas. This one is not one I’d have ever gotten for myself because jasmine green teas are common and just not my thing. This is fine. Smooth enough and I can also get that sort of grape/muscatel vibe from the jasmine that RS got. If you are into jasmine greens and this is available, it’s fine but if you’re not, this is like all others.

After lunch, I took this as a hot tea and Monkey Chop as an iced latte back to the office with me…and by that I mean to the desk upstairs. It was nice and even as it cooled I enjoyed it. It was peachy and fruity and just a nice afternoon tea as I listened to did video training.
