additional notes: I’m finishing this one now and had the brilliant idea when I woke up this morning to mix it with a ripe puerh. Since the black tea is so light. It’s giving Teavivre’s Loose Yunnan Palace Ripened 2005 a sweet flavor boost. (It didn’t really need it – I gave the puerh a 95 rating so probably should have used a puerh I liked less to blend it with!) But how I steeped it is giving it a lovely balance of puerh depth and the sweetness of this tea. I’m also drinking it along with Lupicia’s Marron Chocolat and they pair VERY well together.

From TheLastDodo a while ago, thank you!  I never wrote a note for it yet and it’s almost gone.  Also no other tasting notes for this one, sadly. This is one of the teas from the wholesale seller of Della Terra, but not sure if Della Terra ever carried this one.  There are actual rice krispie cereal pieces here, which is fun.  The black tea is extremely light when brewed up (as Della Terra’s teas usually were) but also the age might be contributing to the lightness at this point.  Also, my latest patient steeping probably helps.  The flavor to me is MAPLE.  Very sweet and surprisingly flavorful after all this time.  However, I wish it had been more marshmallow treat than maple.

I had high hopes for this tea. Probably much higher then I should have considering how much my friend paid for it. Granted price shouldn’t always determine whether it’s good or bad but quite honestly… this is bland. Can’t even taste the pineapple There isn’t even any grassy notes for the green tea. This is not a cup of tea its a cup of blah…

There are good cops and bad cops. This tea plays good cop.

An Ode to Tea challenge #2– K

Another actual junk food tea and also fits for where I’m at in the alphabet challenge.  I love munchable kettle corn.  Maybe it’s age but this is nowhere near “kettle corn”.  It’s chocolate!  And mildly coconut.  I also didn’t have many ‘K’ teas that were near sipdowns, so this is also not a sipdown.  I think I started slacking with actual sipdowns in the middle of the last alphabet sipdown challenge as well…

Thanks for this one from your sale, TheLastDodo! I had to try this one. Unfortunately, this is nothing like any kettle corn I’ve tried. Though it isn’t a bad tasting blend. It just tastes like chocolate coconut instead of kettle corn? It’s definitely packaged well and not contaminated at all. I do see little pieces of coconut in the blend and one kernel of corn in what went in my infuser. I like the flavor, but I’d rename it!

Thanks to keychange for this tea! It was a fairly standard spiced black (ginger, heavy cinnamon, cloves), and not my favourite black, but was okay. Too much cinnamon-y flavouring though, IMO.
