Cold Brew!
December is always weird for me when it comes to cold brews because I never know if the teas I open for advents are gonna be cold brew suitable so I don’t really start a cold brew until I’ve opened the advent teas for the day and decided if I’ll be making any of them that way…
As a result, I do drink less cold brew than any other time of the year. But this was one I made in a non-advent cold brew day and it ended up being a really nice little refreshing treat for myself to come home to after a long day. I love that this is basically like a more elevated lemonade. Not as sweet, but with a bit of pucker still and then that very characteristic yuzu peppery and pithy undertone and finish.
I’ve nearly sipped my way through this box of Korean yuzu peel, and I will be SAD when it is gone…
Cold Brew!
Made this over the weekend and absolutely enjoyed it! Like last time it was a very pithy and peppery brew, but also still pretty naturally sweet. Sort of lemonade vibes, but with that extra nuance and complexity of flavour. I could drink this by the pitcher, which is a shame because I’m going through it pretty quickly at this rate… It’s just so good cold!
Cold Brew!
This is another tea that I got to sample at the expo (they were also serving it cold brewed) that I decided to purchase and bring home with me. It’s just straight Korean yuzu peel, much like what’s in the Yuja Balhyocha from Soo Cha that I adore so much.
When I got home one of the first things I did after unpacking was set this up to cold brew so that the next day I could enjoy relaxing with this tisane. It essentially tastes like a really nuanced, elevated sort of lemonade. Naturally just a bit sweet with some more tart, aromatic high notes but also with that complexity and peppery undertone that is more distinct and unique to yuzu. Maybe a little like grapefruit too. So fresh, and just an explosion of natural citrus flavours.
Glad I nabbed this! It’ll be nice for cold brewing in the summer or experimenting with mixing into other teas.
