This tea is strong, very strong. I steeped it as in the instructions, 3 tsp for a 18 oz pot in boiling water. It is way too strong. Next time I think two tsp and only 3 min steep instead of 5. This is a classic example of a tea company recommending the oversteeping of their tea.
The tea is very bitter as well. It is a compressed black tea but not at all like a puerh, not smooth at all. I can’t give it a very high mark. I will try it again in about a week and steep it less, maybe it will be better.
Preparation
I can’t really taste the rooibos here but I taste the black tea. I is decent but not incredible. Someone who likes flavored black/rooibos will like it. It has notes of what I would describe as burnt sugar. I brewed it at 205 degrees with 3 tsp of leaf in an 18 oz stump tea pot.
Flavors: Brown Sugar
Preparation
This tea tastes good to me this morning, it doesn’t taste sour at all. This is odd to me because it tasted like slightly sour grapes the first time I drank it. Today I am getting the sweet flavor of frozen grapes and the mellow flavor of the white tea. It is possible that the tea changed in flavor in the month and a half it was stored or it could just be my taste buds are still off and next time it will taste slightly sour, who knows.
I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 4 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 3 min.
Flavors: White Grapes
Preparation
I brewed this tea western style with slightly more volume of leaf because it is very light weight leaf. Three minutes at 175 degrees with 5 tsp of leaf for 18 oz. IT is quite tasty. It is sweet and slightly sour, sour like sour grapes. It is made with the flavor of frozen grapes. It is much better that the other icewine tea I have tasted, from Darlene’s Tea Port. Discover Teas has so far the best icewine tea I’ve had with no chemical flavor or off taste.
Flavors: White Grapes
Preparation
This tea has a strong cinnamon taste and a very weak chocolate one. It does not have much bitterness or astringency. I only bought 2 ounces and I am glad I didn’t buy more. Its a decent tea but not worth buying again. Someone who is a big fan of cinnamon would like it. I can’t taste the chocolate.
Flavors: Cinnamon
Preparation
Sweet and mildly astringent tea with the flavor of ripe strawberries and chocolate. This tea is literally chocolate covered strawberries in a cup. It cries out for sugar. There is little bitterness to this tea.
Flavors: Dark Chocolate
Preparation
The Jasmine Puerh by Discover Teas is definitely one to steep a few times. On the first steep, the leaves had not fully opened, and I was tasting a very strong jasmine flavor with earthy pu erh undertones. As I continued to steep, the pu erh flavor diminished and a wonderfully smooth jasmine green was uncovered. The leaves continued to open more even at the sixth and seventh steep! A small amount goes a long ways. A great pu erh for pu erh beginners. It is also VERY hard to oversteep this. I did three minutes for the first steeping, but increased the steep time with each, and eventually went up to 6 minutes.

The Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose Festival is a delightfully light and naturally sweet tea that’s one of my go-to teas on a hot afternoon. The fruit and floral notes are clear and crisp without overpowering the always enjoyable Japanese sencha base. To top it off, it’s as enjoyable iced as it is hot!
Preparation
Contrary to what another taster has stated, the flavor of this tea actually comes from popped brown rice, not popped corn. The tea leaves are a Japanese style sencha. This is my go-to green for rainy days. Very comforting and relaxing.
