I’ve had this one in my cabinet for a loooong time. At least after my youngest was born for it’s healing benefits. I remember really disliking it then and not finding much in the way of health benefits. I decided it was time to get it out of the cabinet. Maybe it’s because I didn’t follow the suggestions for steeping on the box, but it’s not bad. Today I used a lower water temp (195F) and steeped for 3:30.
I seem to remember it having a mushroom like quality, but memory is a foggy thing. It has a leafy taste and reminds me of a sweet black tea.

Preparation
A friend gave this to me for the holidays. I am not overly excited about it but it’s super simple and that counts for something. So I broke this out for the first #matchamonday of 2022 and paired it with my first book of the year, The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas. If I’m being honest, both the tea and book are better than expected.
Smooth and sweet with a classic grass profile that a proper green tea/matcha tends to have. For a teabag and a straight green, significantly better than expected.

Thank you Arby for the share. I have had so many teas with marshmallow root in it but never just marshmallow root so this was an interesting one to try. It was fluffy and smooth but surprisingly vegetal and a little similar flavor profile to a white tea.

Arby suggested this is good for when you’re sick and so I figured now is as good a good a time as any to give it a try. It’s a little vegetal, a little medicinal, and has a bit of a corn taste to it. I might be imagining that but despite it being a very gentle flavor, it is nice. Thank you Arby for the share.
I’m not going to lie…this does not taste like marshmallows and I was very disappointed. I had that idea going in, but was let down. This actually tastes like dry root/leaf steeped in hot water.
Unless you are looking for the medicinal properties, I would not recommend this.
Flavors: Autumn Leaf Pile, Medicinal, Straw, Taro Root
Papaya leaf has some great health benefits, but the taste of this is hard to deal with. I love Celebration Herbals huge selection of organic, one-herb teas, but there are others that taste better and are also healthy so I probably wouldn’t buy this again.
Flavors: Hay, Plants
I really enjoy this turmeric ginger tea. It feels very warm and soothing to drink. Turmeric is known for helping with inflammation, and ginger helps with digestion and nausea, so it has great health benefits to go with the pleasant taste.
Flavors: Ginger, Lemon
A decent option if you’re looking for a decaff green tea. Sometimes I want a green tea without the caffeine, especially if I’m drinking it in the evening. I bought this tea from my local health food store and was assured that the process in which the tea was decaffeinated was done naturally using the highest standards with complete customer satisfaction in mind. This tea is light and not bitter with a light lemongrass flavour. I like it as an alternative to all my other green teas that have caffeine in them. Not sure if I would repurchase but I would recommend this brand to anyone who is looking for a decaffeinated green tea.
Flavors: Green
Back when I needed raspberry leaf for medicinal purposes, I’d add something fruity or minty, which may not have blended all that well, either, but it helped.
