A sipdown! (M: 2 Y: 89)
The second office tea from Biogena (bought very same day as their “Black tea”) and again very happy to have it finished.

The price was same as that one, but not worth the tea again.

Take a little weaker black tea, and voilá you have Earl grey. There was too little bergamot (oil? aroma? anything?) and it was like lighter version of the second tea. And because it was weaker, there was brighter flavours than in that tea.

But still a dismal. Not that bad, but still a bad tea.

A sipdown! (M: 1 Y: 88)

I usually buy to the office some common and grocery shop available teas; mostly because I don’t want anything extra fancy there; and I just need a morning booster and nothing much else.

But this tea has betrayed me. Considering it’s on higher price point than most of the tea bags available, it is a true dismal.

It should be brewed in 250 ml of water and steeped for 3-5 minutes. I have a mug with double volume and 3 minutes steeping was often too much!. And also, sadly, I noticed nothing but astringency combined with bitterness. Just a hot, bitter drink; with absolutely no flavour of the base tea. Well, maybe better than dust, but again, as I wrote, considering the price tag… I am disappointed.
Sadly, never more for me.

Ick! One for the compost heap!

This would be a good “foot tea”. Make yourself a nice tea foot bath, as it is supposed to be healthy for your feet! Soak your feet on a day when you are especially sore or tired.

Or a couple of cool bags on tired eyes.

Drank yesterday evening while I was visiting my friends; and well, they did not offered any teas, only a few fruit blends.

The aroma was pretty nice, though quite sweet. It was mostly the tangerine with hints of ginger.

Brewed, well, it was very strong in tangerine, bit in artificial way. The ginger was doing warming up effect when colder.

Wasn’t impressed, but haven’t expected anything too much, so… okay?

Hmmm. There is an American version of that proverb; “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.”

Very, very probably :)

First things first, this is a sipdown. It makes me feel good to write it down because it feels like I’ve accomplished something with my day. I got this either in the GCTTB or in a sample trade. I’ve tried it before, but I don’t know if I wrote a review or not.

Tried this one hot, not knowing what flavor it was or what base. I guessed peach on black base (the wrapper says “Noni & Svestka”), but it turns out noni is actually the “cheese fruit” (Morinda citrifolia), a fruit with a tropical but bitter flavor used raw, juiced, or cooked. Noni is also used for its leaves to make a herbal medicinal tea in Hawaiian culture. Svestka is apparently plum, but the package looks like a peach. I’m not sure what I’m drinking to be honest, but it tastes like peach/yellow fruit more than any plum I’ve had (yellow or purple fleshed).

It steeped bright pink in about 30 seconds so I took the teabag out early. It smells fruity, but it initially tastes sour (hibiscus? plum skins?). The after taste is what really makes it undrinkable, though, because it has the sickly sweetness like it is sweetened with stevia or chicory. Super gross. Under the horrible tart + sweet (which do not cancel each other out but somehow you taste both extremes separately), there is a peach flavor. I couldn’t finish the cup, I don’t like that level of sour or stevia sweetness.

Oh yikes, sounds like a nightmare.

It was pretty bad. I wouldn’t drink it again even if it was free.

Sipdowns — always an accomplishment. :D

Iced tea!

Used three tea bags, steeped for five minutes. This one turned out pretty tasty. I used an infusion of oranges this time, and I think the citrus complemented the sweetness of the tea pretty well. I didn’t even need to add any extra sugar to the brew because the tea was really sweet in itself already. I did enjoy this tea iced, but I think I want to experiment with different flavour infusions next time. I’m thinking apples and cinnamon. Maybe blackberries? Gotta go grocery shopping!

Another tea I brought back with me from Slovakia – this one is made in the Czech Republic. I feel like having this tea is like a treat, because of its full and heavy sweet flavour profile. It’s quite delicious, in a “dessert” kind of way. The tea turns dark purple upon completion of brewing. Yum!

Dark purple tea! that’s neat.

Very strong perfume alike smell. I can taste a hint of pomegranate. I’d say this is “ok” bagged tea, not bad, but not excellent either.
