The TTB has arrived! So big, so many teas… no chance to try them all!
Tea #11
Finished this one from the TTB! Actually it caught my attention earlier, but I wasn’t craving any EG, moreso with cream/vanilla note. I was probably afraid of being too sweet, but I was wrong.
Actually this is fine. I used remaining 2.6 grams and it was quite weak, but bergamot was on right level and it was nicely creamy. Also some other citruses were more or less present, orange peel for sure was there.
I am certainly not a Doctor Who fan. My brother is though, and Ihave seen a few episodes, but never “fall in love” with that series.

Rich luxurious vanilla tones that are smooth and decadent start the sip off with a hint of the bergamot here and there with a citrus finish. The black tea base really lays way for the rich flavors to really take the spotlight. Being one that is not a huge bergamot fan, I appreciated the hints here and there but not dominating the brew. The citrus notes were the perfect ending. Each sip is as smooth as the last, even as the tea cools.

In my full-length review of this tea, I started off with a bit of a rant, because I found myself in disagreement with the vendor’s description of this tea. You can read the rant here: http://sororiteasisters.com/2015/01/01/vibrant-morning-green-tea-blend-from-because-ur-priceless/
Despite my displeasure from their description, I found this to be a rather lovely green tea blend. I like the combination of spearmint and bright lemony flavor. The spearmint isn’t overly aggressive and the lemon adds just the right amount of vibrant flavor – so even if the description isn’t spot on, the name of the tea is appropriate.

Another etsy tea shop. I really like the customer service from this shop as well. I loved the packaging! It’s a fun shop.
This blend was tasty: It’s a green Yerba Mate (unroasted) with black tea and two types of mint (Spearmint and Peppermint). The black tea is a bit difficult to discern in the early sips, but as I continued to sip, the flavor of the black tea developed. The yerba mate has a vegetal taste with notes of earth. The mint is very prominent, but even so, it’s not so minty that it tastes as though I’m drinking mouthwash.

In my full-length review of this tea: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/11/25/keiths-delicious-tea-from-because-ur-priceless/ – I mention that this is a “nice, mild-tasting tisane.” That’s the best way I can describe it. It’s very mellow, which is kind of surprising given that one of the ingredients is peppermint which isn’t the most mellow of herbs. Here, the lemon balm tempers it so that the flavor is softer.
It starts out herby, with notes of peppermint coming through and by mid-sip, I pick up on citrus flavors. The finish is cool from the mint. The aftertaste is both minty and lemon-y.
It’s a refreshing tisane. Not something I’d drink daily but I enjoyed it.

A delightful yerba mate blend. It’s a green yerba mate and it has a fresh taste. It’s very invigorating.
The cinnamon is warm and the cacao nibs add a really nice, rich taste of chocolate that I really liked. It’s a nice combination: an earthy, vegetal note from the green mate, the warmly spiced cinnamon and the bittersweet notes of cacao.

I really enjoyed receiving my sample box from Because UR Priceless. They are an etsy seller and their packaging has a very handmade sort of feel that works within the etsy thing. The little sample packages were all packaged up in glassine envies and sealed with decorative tape and each envelope had a bright, colorful label. They were tucked neatly in a gift box and the gift box was labeled with another brightly colored label and the whole thing was finished with a sunshine yellow ribbon. It was like getting a gift. I liked that a lot.
But that wouldn’t mean a whole heck of a lot if the teas weren’t any good, and fortunately the teas were tasty too.
This is a pleasant rooibos chai. I don’t usually get really excited over rooibos blends and I didn’t get overly excited about this one either, but, it was tasty. It had a nice balance of spices and a bright note of orange that I enjoyed. I’m not sure why they chose to call it “creamy” though, because there’s not a lot of “creamy” here. There’s no vanilla. The only thing I can think of is that they consider the nutty flavors of the rooibos to be somewhat “creamy” tasting, and I guess I can understand that. I don’t really think of rooibos as particularly creamy.
But, it is a pleasant chai blend.
