That’s the end of the packet, and the end of my white tea until I buy some more. I lost concentration and brewed it for 5 mins at 80 degC rather than 4 mins at 75 degC and you can tell that it has gone a little bit too far. It’s a shame not to finish on the best cup of this tea, but it’s drinkable. Yesterday’s cup (not logged here) was much better. I like white tea, so I’ll get it again, it might be this one but I think I can find something even better
Like last time I drank it, I find myself trying to work out the interesting aftertaste that it leaves. It’s certainly very pleasant, perhaps a bit woody, I still can’t put my finger on it. This tea is good enough that I had it one day and then the next day wanted to get some more. Normally I chop and change a lot so to go back to it so soon means it’s pretty tasty!
I have decided I like it a lot, because it is light and sweet. If you just hold the tea at the back of your mouth before swallowing, you get a lovely indescribable flavour. But I still prefer some of the other green teas I have. It’s not bad for a light cuppa before bed
Opening the packet, the smell was not so grassy, but it almost reminded me of oolong. The leaves as well are blue-grey. I was expecting a fluorescent green colour because I have just been drinking sencha, but it has th colour of honey and the smell of the brew is sweet too. I could eat some lemon cake with this for sure. After all that, the taste was a little disappointing. Or at least, not quite what I expected. I’ll have to drink it again to decide what I thnk
I had a cup in a rush earlier. I usually like to let it cool slightly to let the taste come out but didn’t have time, so I was a little disappointed.I usually think it tastes like staying up late – maybe it’s because the flavour is so dark and exciting… or something
(Note: I did not get this batch from Aurora)
Sikkim is a wonderful tea with a very full and smooth flavour. I find it at it’s best a few minutes after brewing, so I advise you steep for 3-4 mins, then pour off and allow the tea to properly blend and breathe, then drink (i have it with milk, no sugar!)
Preparation
Unusually, my housemate requested a green tea so I was glad to oblige. I’m starting to run low and wondering how different i would be from a different company and whether japanese and chinese senchas are likely to be different
Preparation
This was incredible. A real change from all the gunpowder green tea I have had so much recently. It was strong and a little grassy and not at all bitter. After all the logs on here talking about multiple steeps, I will save the leaves for another steep or two tomorrow – can’t wait!
