You can sure smell the Apricot prior to steeping. While steeping you can almost smell what seems to be a hint of chocolate even tho I know it’s not…and maybe even a very little bit of fresh wood or bark even…but just a pinch. After Steeping it’s more of a earthy and apricot-esque smell. Nice. The coloring is a rich reddish-brown. The taste is a great blend of Honeybush and Apricot – neither too overpowering. Very pure tasting.
Well, it’s been a while since I had Foxtrot so I decided to have a cup last night. I have had my 4-ouncer for a while and have been supplying my father’s new found love for the stuff, too, so it has been used, but I am beginning to wonder if the actual storage life isn’t as strong to stand on as other teas can be. It tasted a little off last night…for some reason…a little funky…not sure…maybe it was just human error…totally possible considering I was the human who prepared it! LOL – anyhow…it wasn’t bad, just not as good as it usually is. I am backlogging this from last night – but I wanted to make sure I logged this finding for my own records…
You’ve inspired me to keep trying with this blend. At first I thought this was interesting in a good way, but then the last few times I’ve had it “funky” would be the right term for how it seemed. I’ll let ya know if my opinion shifts at all after some experimentation :)
Have you ever tried it iced? (I like it that way and it’s a little more error-resistant that way—just brew it good and strong.)
I always like to see what others say about the teas I have tried and have retried. Just noticed Mindala’s note about my postings/obsession with Foxtrot. Okay…I’m ready to admit it…I LOVE this tea. There I said it! :P I’m not usually into herbals unless its peppermint which this blend does have. And I am not usually a fan of chamomile ‘just because; but again this blend has it and it works well. Among other things. I think I’m a fan purely because it’s a creative blend that makes you ponder “just what it’s all about” and then you move on to pondering other things. Let’s just say it makes everyone a poet who partakes. ENJOY!
Light in color but not in scent! Before and during the steeping process the scent is like nothing I have ever smelled before. There is so much going on here! It’s Chamomile but better…minty but with other influences jumping in…herbal but not medicine-smelling…even smells a little fruity or even like a vegetable garden at times. Pleasant to look at and smell. The taste is refreshing yet calming. I really enjoy this one…maybe even so much so that it’s my new fave nighttime or bedtime tea.
