141 Tasting Notes
A pleasant strong spearmint flavor, reminds me of mint julep and candy spearmint leaves (especially since I added sugar). The directions say to steep 5 to 6 minutes, and it is definitely necessary to achieve a strong flavor. I love the taste of mint, and I love the fact that this is not mixed with green tea. This would probably make a great iced tea in the summer.
UPDATE: You can get a second steeping out of the bag and still have a good strong flavor.
Preparation
Comparable in taste to Twinings or Ahmad. Sweet flowery taste with a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Not too astringent. I might try cold brewing this tea, the Twinings and Ahmad Darjeelings and see if the bitter edge disappears.
Preparation
I cold brewed a couple of cups last night, then reheated a cup this morning and added milk and sugar. The taste was good, though more flat and less full-bodied than hot-brewed. I would probably give this cup a 75 out of 100, instead of the 99 out of 100 I would normally give to Twinings Ceylon
Preparation
A nice pleasant Ceylon flavor, not bitter or astringent, not as good as Twinings Ceylon, but close enough. The packet says to steep for 1 to 2 minutes; I did not find this was long enough. Taken with milk and sugar. A nice everyday tea. In the summer I will have to see how it does as an iced tea.
Preparation
The lemon flavor and aroma are faint, even with honey and splenda added. The grassy flavor of the green tea seems to drown out the lemon, which I sense only as an aftertaste. I just cannot manage to like green tea.
Preparation
This tea has a candy-like aroma, but a more fruity taste. The strawberry flavor tastes natural, and is rather mild, and does not overwhelm the black tea. I actually wish the fruit taste was a bit stronger. It has a somewhat bitter finish, though this may be because I steeped it for four minutes instead of the recommended three.
Preparation
I have a sore throat and I thought a fruit tea would be soothing. The apple flavor tastes natural, more like apple juice than apple cider. Added honey to overcome the bitter edge, but no milk. Their lemon and lime black tea probably would have been better for my throat, but I wanted to try a new tea.
