1271 Tasting Notes
This, so far, is the only DAVIDsTEA I wanted to return after the first taste. Then I tried it 2 more times and felt the same way. I don’t even want to regift it. It’s got that cool hit of bamboo, then tingle of pepper heat… and tart strawberries. The cool and heat and tart was just a bad combination for me.
I’ll try it iced in the summer, months away from now for me to remember this was a “bleck” reaction for me.. maybe that will go better.
From the description of this tea (and a DAVIDsTea newsletter of making it like hot apple cider) the smell of the leaves wasn’t exciting… very light spice smell and apple.
I don’t smell the caramel apple at all. Maybe it’s a bad batch or I got a scoop of all the lightweight bits?
Steeped, I find it to be a mild citrus taste and a bitter after taste. Not spicey or appley. shrug I had high hopes for this one >__<
So many huge chunks of mango and other fruit! I’m guilty of sampling this tea without actually steeping it.. and after steeping picking out all the chunks of fruit and eating it! Very nice fruity mango tea… however the yogurt isn’t very pronounced and did not add any creamyness at all.
I’m not sure what orchid tastes like, but I find this tea to taste like an overpowering cherry – but cherry is the last ingredient! With that said, a bit of a disappointment if you want a orchidy /strawberry/raspberry tea as promised and it smells and tastes like cherry. Other than that, it is pretty nice cherry taste…
