Thanks to SimplyJenW for letting me try this one!
It used to be that I thought I didn’t like Ceylon teas but I think previously I’ve had the cheap-o ones either used in teabags or in breakfast blends. It came as somewhat of a revelation to me that I could really enjoy a Ceylon tea.
I steeped this for 4 minutes with boiling water. It is very dark, rich with some brown sugary and chocolate-y type notes. It has a tiny bit of briskness and a tad of pungency at the very end but very enjoyable. I was able to drink some of this plain (just to do a proper tasting) but then I added some soymilk to it and it’s very good both ways. This would be a great breakfast tea, or even an afternoon tea with some biscuits and jam. A solid YUM. I’m very glad I got to try it and I can see that more ceylons are in my future! :)
Oh man, that sounds fabulous. I frequently am in the mood for a good black tea with chocolatey and sweet notes.. : )
I have to explore some Ceylons….
I also recommend the Sam Bodhi from Le Palais de Thes – it’s gooood!
