I have mostly turned to straight blacks when I’m stumbling around half asleep and need something bold to wake me up. This was one of those mornings. So I chose this one, as the name sounded like it meant business and would give me the wake-up smack I needed.

But I was pleasantly surprised with a gentle (but effective) nudge instead. It was exceptionally smooth, and full-bodied yet light at the same time. There’s a slight raisin-y natural sweetness to it, which increases as it cools. I didn’t feel the need to add anything as it was tasty on its own, and it resteeped well. I think that seasoned black tea drinkers and newbies like me could both agree that this is one fine tea!

I recently discovered loose leaf after a long and uninspiring relationship with teabags. I’ve been in love ever since (sorry bags, I just don’t feel that spark anymore).

Food is a passion for me and my love of scents and flavors has translated into an excitement for trying new teas. I’m trying to expand my palate with all different types, and currently my favorites are oolongs and greens.
