Day 5 Amanda ‘SoggyEnderman’ Wilson Tea Advent Calendar
I just feel like I drank a cup of fresh mountain rain water infused with jasmine and roses. This tea is beautiful! I brewed mine in a Gaiwan with 170 degree water for 1 minute. This tea reminds me of late Spring, early Summer. The floral notes are just right to me, they are not at all over powering.

Yum! Smokey goodness! This roasted green is just what I needed this afternoon. I was feeling cold and achy and this tea made me feel like I was sitting curled up in a blanket sitting by a fire. The flavor notes remind me of roasted chestnuts, leaf mulch, burnt apple wood and well, just the sweet lovely smell of a fire.

Oh my!This is a wonderful blend! Rich malt, with bright notes, blueberry,blackberry, oh yum! I added a bit of sugar to mine and boy did it bring the blueberry and blackberry notes out. Loving this tea!

I love Oolongs and this one is not disappointing.
1st steep A light floral with a tiny bit of roasted notes. Yum! Very calming.
2nd steep floral and roasted fruit with a slight green hay note. Very pleasant and calming, like a warm Spring breeze. Not to be too descriptive, but it reminds me of how the air smells when it is being heated up by the sun. The light floral,roasted fruity earthy smell mixed with hay.
Prior to trying this tea, I tried looking up the company name and I could not find any information about this tea company. So I thought to myself, this is going to be interesting. I opened the box and there were two plastic packages,twenty-five bags each. When I opened the plastic there was little to no aroma. Well, this is not good. I put a tea bag in my cup and turned on my fancy shmancy electric kettle with thermostat control and heated the water to 180 degrees. When the kettle beeped to tell me the water was ready, I poured it over the bag and the most amazing aroma lifted from my cup. It smelled like a pomander ball made from oranges and cloves mixed with the floral minty aroma of the Ceylon. The color of the brewed tea is a beautiful auburn. Now for the flavor, sigh of relief. This tea is delightful. It has the true Ceylon flavor, mellow, a bit bitter with a sweet aftertaste mixed with orange and cloves. I also picked up a bit of cinnamon and cardamon, more of an after thought than in your face like the orange and clove. This tea may not be for everyone, but for me it is delightful and also brings feelings of nostalgia.
Preparation
I sort of lucked into this rich, strong, traditional tea. I bought it on sale at a discount grocer for .99 a pouch. When first opening the pouch, the aroma is beautifully rich and malty , with a hint of citrus from the Ceylon. After pouring my water over the leaves the aroma of course intensified. I also detected a bit of spice and currant aromas mixed in. The color is a nice rich mahogany. Now for the flavor, I found it to be just what I wanted. It is rich,warm and inviting, I know inviting, what does that mean, that isn’t a flavor. Well, to me it tasted like an inviting room feels.There were hints of malt,spice and citrus mixed in the with richness of black tea. I believe this to be a nice tea anytime you want a bit of comfort mixed with a bit of pick me up.
Preparation
The tea has a beautiful light amber color. The aroma is a mixture of hay mixed with a smoked seaweed smell, also a little bit of a pinto bean smell…hehe. The flavor is light and smokey with an after thought of seaweed. I also think of a late summer/early autumn evening in a meadow and the smell of fires in the distance.
