Got this sample from MissB. When I smelled the tea dry I picked up some floral notes but I didn’t know it was jasmine (until I logged in here and saw it was jasmine). Brewed up it’s quite a strong green tea with a slight bitterness to it. I do pick up a faint jasmine flavour in the tea but it seems a bit off. Definitely floral but jasmine? I am having trouble putting it in words. Until I saw it was a jasmine green tea, I wouldn’t have taken it for one. As I drink down my cup the bitterness becomes stronger. When I have this again, I will try brewing a smaller amount with less steep time to see if there is a difference.

I’ve yet to try this one… for whatever reason it feels like less than jasmine to me as well, and likely why I didn’t go for it yet. I hope your second try is more positive!

… or at least more enjoyable. :)

Maybe I’ll give it a try soon. Sometimes it’s the brewing time and temperature that can make a big difference.

Green teas are my favourite teas but I also enjoy: white, some herbal, rooibos, raw pu’erh, light oolongs, a little bit of black , and a little bit of ripe pu’erh. I have moved away from artificial flavourings and there’s hardly anything left in my cabinet with artificial flavouring or colours. It is mostly straight teas or tea blends.
