818 Tasting Notes
I think I’m in love with this tea! Sweet, buttery, cake-y, and slightly fruity. It’s the complex dessert tea I’ve been waiting for! Yum!!! I steeped it twice, and found that the cherry bits pop out more in the second steep. Definitely gonna keep a stock of this one around! It’s the BOMB!!
I got my first Della Terra Teas order yesterday, and I was so excited to try this! The reviews were so good, I ordered 2 oz. without trying it first! Ha! I had it first thing this morning and I have to tell you I was a little surprised by the flavor. It’s got kind of a rum smell and taste that I didn’t expect. I really liked it though. I could definitely smell and taste a little cinnamon and it was sweet and yummy. I also got two robust steeps. It’s not gonna be hard to finish the bag, but I can’t say whether I’m in love with it. Maybe another cup will help me decide!
Awesome, can’t wait to get mine in the mail! I’m already expecting not to be insanely in love with it, but one that will nonetheless be a pleasure to drink.
I hope you like it! Also, I was super impressed with Della Terra’s shipping! They shipped it the first day of mail service after my order and I got it in two days!
Steeped this one longer per Kittenna’s recommendation, about 7 minutes. Added a splash of milk to add creaminess. It’s still too weak for me. The smell is amazing. I just wish the taste was as robust as the smell. Would definitely be better with a black tea base.
Added honey to this one today and the pineapple finally popped out! Still, the prominent flavor is walnut, which is okay, but not my favorite nut. Not sure how I feel about this one, though. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. Probably not one I’d get again, but fun to try.
I finally had a morning at home to enjoy this sample. Thank you, Laurent! I didn’t want to steep it at work, since I’d have to use the microwave instead of my nice kettle and steeper. Got to use the right equipment! So, I liked it! I have never tried a flavored genmaicha before, but it’s nice. I was surprised that it had black tea in it. I agree with Kittena that it may not be necessary. I got good toasty caramel notes, and I actually added a little milk and honey, which brought out the sweetness. I got two decent steeps out of it. I can’t wait to try the other samples from Nina’s!
Thought I was finishing off my bag of this one, but it turns out I have enough for another cup! I noticed that at the bottom of the bag, there seemed to be little sugary bits that made my cup extra sweet…probably smaller pieces of the marshmallows and brittle. Anyway, very enjoyable! I love sweet teas!
My stomach seems to be on the fritz lately, and especially last night, so I had some of this to make me feel better. Works every time. I don’t understand what’s going on with my tummy… Last night I thought maybe I was getting the flu, but I haven’t had the flu in so long, I don’t even know what the first symptoms are! Anyway, I’m still surprised I like this tea, since I’ve never been a fan of peppermint. It’s like a lifesaver!
Your reviews are seriously killing me! Glad I ordered this one too. I almost left it out.
That would have been a shame! I wish I had ordered 2oz of this one though! (I only got 1oz)
