18 Tasting Notes
This is my everyday green. The taste is great: I have served it to people who claim not to like green teas and they found it agreeable. Personally I get a rubbery bouquet, but the taste is what keeps me coming back…vegetal and buttery, with a finish of natural honey sweetness. I don’t add honey or any sweetener; it just finishes with a sweet note on my palate. I drink this almost everyday, and it travels well. I started bringing one of those pill boxes that is split up into days of the week, and put one scoop of tea in each day. Then I just dump it into my travel strainer mug.
Preparation
Often this is my wake-me-up-cup. I alternate with Assam, EB and Irish Breakfast. I agree with others that it is a little weak in body and color, but the taste is great. I drink mine with a splash of milk. For some reason I like my black teas only with milk.
Preparation
I LOVE this tea. It just goes to show that different palates abound. I was crushed when I found out Teavana discontinued. For whatever reason, the reviews have always been love/hate. Luckily I found another 8 oz to stash. I think the green rings true and there is a nice fruitiness in the bouquet and aftertaste, but it doesn’t really hit you over the head. I mostly enjoy it as-is, but I suppose you could sweeten the deal with honey or rock sugar.
Preparation
It has grown on me…a little. I guess my least favorite thing about it is the smoky flavour. I do however enjoy the body and liquour color. Some dummy at Teavana said it would be a good sub for 9 Treasures. Huh? A Pi Lo Chun for a fruited Puerh Green?
Preparation
One of my fav fruited greens. Good hot or iced. When they discontinued 9 Treasures, this was my go-to for the fruited stuff. Sometimes I like it plain and sometimes with just a real small dollop of honey to enhance the fruits.
Preparation
Weird but good (sometimes…ya gotta be in the mood). I mostly keep it on hand because my Mom likes it when she comes over. The apricot is hard to pick up for me. The caramel and carrot comes through pretty strongly though. I almost wish it had a little more vegetal green taste to it. Perhaps I need to try a blend.
Preparation
Waaaay too expensive for such a thin tea: thin body, thin taste, thin aftertaste. I had to add honey to bring anything out of it. What you do taste of the peach seems artificial to me. They say multiple infusions, I say BS. It just gets thinner and more water flavored!
