I was really excited about this tea when I opened the sample packet due to the strong coconut scent. However, after pouring boiling water on the tea I could really smell the lavender and was since I hate lavender I was starting to worry how it might taste.
Sure enough, once the tea had brewed for 4 minutes I could definitely taste the lavender and the coconut seemed like a subtle backdrop. Hoping to give the coconut more of a chance to shine through I decided to let it brew for another 4 minutes and that additional brewing time definitely helped out the coconut. I still got a strong whiff of lavender when inhaling too deeply near the tea, but the creamy coconut flavor is almost enough to overlook that.
All in all, I think this is a nice relaxing tea. There is a perfect balance between the coconut and lavender in that neither one overpowers the other if the tea is given sufficient brewing time. If I could tolerate lavender I know I would love this tea due to its creamy coconut qualities. Since I have such a strong lavender bias I’ll leave my rating blank out of fairness to this tea.
