15 Tasting Notes
I tried this Tea again a few days after writing this review and I have decided that I do not like it all. In addition to that I also can not find it on the website anymore. So I guess I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like it. Anyone want to try From Root Beer Float Tea? I have half a bag or so up for grabs!
Preparation
I really thought this tea was going to make me feel sick and icky because of the main ingredient ginger and its helpfulness with digestion, we all know that can go a good calm way or a frightening, im never drinking this tea again bad way. Well i am completely surprised at how wrong I was for worrying that this might be a waste of money tea.
It does what it claims in terms of digestion. On top of that it tastes more orangey and nutty to me than gingery. have i mentioned i hate ginger? I ended up buying the travel tin to this tea so i would not invest a whole nine dollars on a gamble, but i tell ya its my very favorite of all the teas from my first order over at davids teas, i even just ordered a full bag with my second order, now that i know that i like it of course. I would definitely recommend giving it a try but maybe on a lazy Saturday and also buy the 4 dollar travel tin first. :)
At first i really didn’t like this tea. When i first opened the bag it immediately smelled like marijuana to me (maybe that’s the roobios smell?). Then i put some of the leaves in my little infuser thing and the leaves were so small that they spilled out everywhere into my drink and i got leaves in my mouth ( i have a thing with texture, so this was a much bigger deal to me than just swallowing them down). The flavor was ok, it was fruity, and it had that dark green color which i actually thought was kind of neat, but it still smelled like marijuana to me, even after being steeped.
Over the next few days I attended to the other flavored teas i bought and got a little better at not making a mess with the leaves and figuring out how much per cup of tea.
Yesterday i made a large travel size mug of the swampwater and brought it to work with me and i have to say i was thoroughly impressed with it, of course the little leaves still sneak out of the infuser but it wasn’t as much and i just tried to ignore it. I could really taste the passion fruit while it was warm and then towards the end of my shift my tea had turned cold and on the way home i had nothing else to drink so i drank it cold and it was even more delicious. I think this tea will be a wonderful addition to a summer picnic, on ice of course. I still plan to experiment with it. Also like i said in my bio im new to this, so im not even sure if im doing it right.
i was very excited to try this tea, unfourntetly it left me a bit disappointed, i was hoping it would have a touch more vanilla in it. oh well ill still drink it. i love that it has actual root beer roots in it. oddly enough i did feel like this tea had a carbonated taste to it even though it clearly not carbonated. this wasnt a bad tea, and its not my favorite so far, but its different. every time someone comes to my house now i say "hey do u want to try some weird tea?’ and they always choose the root beer float.
i actually enjoyed this tea much more then i thought i would. It was light with just a hint of a nutty flavor and the smell and slight after taste left that cookie dough feeling. I really enjoyed it. Although i wonder my they just didn’t make a chocolate chip cookie tea?
