Matcha/Green TTB #2

Dang, this is a really dark matcha! I took this one out because of the color of it :)
This actually whisked really easy, maybe because it is a 2-go matcha? I don’t know, I didn’t read anything about this so I am unsure if it is one that is to be put in a canister and shaken or not.
Either way, this was nice brisk sip down down. I had to rewhisk this one though which was fun because the bottom was even darker than the matcha!
This one left a dry mouth feel that continued to my throat which I am not a fan of.

Matcha/Green TTB #1

For some odd reason this powder made me think of strawberry matcha candy mixture. Not that I ever had or found such a thing, but the thought of strawberry matcha and the smell of this just conjured such a thought in my mind. I tried to whisk this tea, but it kind of just did its thing without help :/
This actually has a strawberry taste in it which is nice. A bit dry at times, but overall nice.

:( I can’t find a place to purchase amaranth petals, they look so pretty!
This is a pretty nice tea, the balance of watermelon to the white tea taste; fantastic.
Unfortunately, watermelon flavoring just isn’t good from my experience with over six different watermelon teas and that is the same situation with this. While overall the tea is great, the flavoring isn’t what I would want a lot of.

Not sure what made me grab this tea today, but I did.
Out of my swap box I picked out a genmaicha that had more popcorn than anything! I thought that was kind of odd but I wanted to try it because it looked rather fresh. It brewed clean with a nice aroma. The taste is a bit overpowered by notes of popcorn which I normally never pick up in a genmaicha, but I really enjoy this pot I brewed :) this is not just a one cup drink for me so I shall have three.

drank Hong Yun Black by Butiki Teas
1113 tasting notes

Pulled this tea out after talking about Butiki and brewed it a few times. Not only does this leaf have a pleasant aroma when brewed, they completely change in color. Colors range from olive to dark brown and it looks wonderful. Taste wise this is smooth without the bitterness, unfortunately it is yet again another black tea that I do not like. Thankfully I have tried enough black teas at this point to know which leaf is quality and brews a more pure drink as these do.

I FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!!!!!
I drank hot water thinking it was tea I just brewed. I knew the day would come that I would forget that I didn’t steep anything yet and sip from pure water.

Well, here’s my take on it: Very pure in taste, very similar to the taste of hot h20. Not much to really comment on though, lacks in flavor and isn’t very appealing. While it doesn’t have much flavor, it makes up for it by quenching my thirst which is always good. My guess is that this would be perfect for mixing with other drinks and liquids, possibly even steeping something in it :p

It’s kind of strange how different something tastes when you expect another flavor.

Not sure how I forgot about this cold steeping in the fridge… but, I forgot.
This steeped for over 30 hours!
However, for whatever reason this taste creamy with a hint of berry. I quite fancy it.

I have never used the word fancy in a tasting note so now I feel more accomplished today.
The end.

While I have no clue what this should taste like… I am going to explain it how it taste to me.

As I drink this and listen to Of Monsters and Men, I imagine tea being grown in a public pool that nobody pees in. This tea was plucked from that area ,dried out, and processed as an oolong to be sold to consumers such as I to be drank. Many people will drink this and not taste what I taste, but I taste some sort of clean pool tea nectar.

Frickin’ weird experience… how does one rate this? I assume that any pool that has me continually drinking from its produce must be pretty dang amazing so, yeah…

p.s. I am not insane…

But. Are you high?

Liquid Proust

I was not and am still not high. Maybe I should write differently… it is just hard with all the voices in my head, you know?
^
I’m just kidding :p
Dang, I can’t take this serious. If Steepster had a way for me to upload my reviews via 10 second video clips you might understand more, my personality is quite potent.

This was one of six different blackberry teas that I bought on Etsy. See, I am on a quest to find a great blackberry tea… still no luck. This reminds me of an opened tea bag from the dollar store squished into my teacup and splashed with some blackberry mio, but not enough to overtake the disaster in my cup.

drank Plum Oolong by Pooki's Mahi
1113 tasting notes

While plum does not sound appealing to me, I have been convinced that Pooki’s Mahi sells nice oolongs so I gave this one a try. This brews a dark purple liquid with a strong aroma. Tasting this tea was odd for me because it had plum notes all throughout my sips, but I don’t like plums so as I enjoyed this tea I was somewhat perplexed by the experience. I will say that this is mixed, blended, and flavored quite well.
