1113 Tasting Notes
:( :( :( :( :(
This morning I grabbed a tea from my sample box and this was it.
It’s labeled as a black tea by the person who sent it to me… let’s just say that I did a safe 205f for 2 minutes and took it to work with me in my thermos.
One of the nastiest things I have ever tasted period.
:/
I really wanted to like this tea, but the more I drink black/red teas the more I like my cocoa-y…
Unfortunately, this is just a black tea with no real notes to pick out. Smooth, for sure, but doesn’t stand out. I do like how it is pure and not dry nor bitter.
Also: After this person near me has asked 4x to come drink tea with me and then cancelling they told me they are not interested anymore… I really dislike how I put a lot of time and set aside teas for them, but they just don’t take it serious after stringing me around.
Man, this aint no sencha.
This is clearly a chai blend… but whatever. I am not a fan of chai and green tea trying to mingle with one another in my mouth so I will refrain from finishing this.
(I had no idea what it was, I just brewed it from my sample box)
I only used 4g of this tea and it taste more pure than the 20g I used yesterday on accident…
While this is a great tea, the 2005 ginseng was better (it has been my favorite pu’erh yet though)
This brews dark, quick, and it taste smooth from steep #2.
It goes on my list of teas I would like to drink again, but the price is a bit up there and I am going to continue to search for a brick that knocks me back.
100% Honesty
This does not look like that picture and it isn’t that great, but it is doing what I need it to to.
Here’s the thing… I’m trying not to cry as I read this letter from Great Lakes saying I’m defaulted to owe $499 a month on my student loans. I’m only two months out of graduating… what stupid expectations :(
Never thought I would have to apply for an income driven payment plan :/
Sigh.
Oh… of course I have the 300 payments at $277 option. I could be student loan free by 2040 everyone!!!
Ouch! My student loans are Canadian and split between a federal portion and a provincial portion. Between the two, I pay ~$430 per month and it is paid off in ten years. I’m just about halfway there but there were many times that if I had paid according to the percentage of my income, I wouldn’t be done until dead. Some day they will be all gone though, and your education will remain!

Not knowing that this thing was 20g, I began steeping this realizing that I was in for one long ass session…
Roughly 60 ounces later I felt like I couldn’t move.
Then 15 more steeps came; who knows how many ounces I’m at now…
I am not sober and I don’t believe I can operate stairs…

I drank some 2011 white buds from Norbu yesterday so I pulled these out to compare with today.
I find this to have a stronger taste, but not in the good way. There is a wild element to this tea that showcases the way that it was created, but tat is not a taste I like. Some people may like that really earthy notes within the tea that make it taste alive… but I want a smooth hot liquid that has a complex taste that doesn’t make me think about the process the tea went through rather what is happening in my mouth.
This might nice, but it isn’t my favorite white/silver bud tea that I have had
