This is a very friendly little cafe in downtown Rockland, ME. It started out in the mid-90s as Second Read, a combination cafe and bookshop. They have their own brands for coffee and tea. The tea is sold under the name “Benevolent Leaf” and is mostly loose leaf. At the counter they sell a few kinds of tea by the cup or the pot, hot or iced, and a couple varieties of chai, as well as snacks, sandwiches, and the obvious coffee.
The food is good, the tea is delightful, the prices of the loose leaf is very reasonable, and the staff is very personable. If you visit the Rockland area, I do suggest a visit to Rock City.
