20 Tasting Notes
This is such a lovely tea. I love the look of the tea “leaves” before they ever even hit the water. So pretty.
Anyway, this is a very nice, smooth chamomile. Perfect.
I’ve read others complain about difficulty in cleaning the breweing basket. Quick tip: I bought a baby bottle brush — it has a little sponge on the tip and bristles everywhere else (like a regular bottle brush) and it works perfectly for cleaning the old tea baskets. :)
We have also tried this as a blend with the Adagio Peppermint. It’s super yummy and makes a great evening tea as it is uber relaxing. This tea with a nice leisurely soak in the tub = blissful night’s rest!
It’s a relatively mild tea, so I do find that I don’t get as many cups out of one basket of leaves. With most teas, we average 5-6 cups before we toss it out for composting. This is more like 2 or 3. But for the lovely flavor, I’m perfectly ok with that.
Preparation
So far I’ve only blended this with the Adagio Green Citron tea. A pretty nice combo. An interesting combo. Not my all time fave, but certainly good for a few cups of tea. I’ll probably try blending with something else next time.
Preparation
I wanted to try a differnt brand tea and opted for Adagio based upon some of the feedback on this site. So far so good! I purchased the green tea sampler. So far, I have only tried this flavor.
Alone, it’s a bit too “green” for me. I wish I liked straight green, but so far in the loose leaf tea everything I’ve tried has been too grassy for me (both Chinese and Japanese varities ;-/) Sooooo…. I also ordered the Mate sampler and opted to blend this with the spice blend. I was happy with the combo. Not my all time favorite, but tasty.
Preparation
I am not typically a fan of fruity teas. I don’t mind a hint of fruit, but not full on, sweet fruity types. This sounded like the latter and wouldn’t have been a blend I would have purchased. But I received a free sample with a Teavana order. To my surprise I really enjoy this tea! I think of it as a happy tea. It’s not particulary energizing, nor is is super relaxing. It’s just a feel good kind of tea — at least to me.
And while it has plenty of notes of fruit flavors, it’s definitely not a tea I would describe as “sweet.” I would actually repurchase this tea. And although I haven’t yet tried it iced, I suspect that may be nice as well.
Preparation
Alone, this tea is too “green” for me. I wanted to love it. I just started drinking loose leaf tea (threw in the bag!) relatively recently and wanted to add green tea with all of it’s health benefits to my repetoire.
I gave this a low rating —BUT WAIT -- with Teavana Samurai Chai Mate (blend of 3/4 tsp each steeped at 1.25 minutes at 170) this is actually a fave for me! What a difference. So it’s not 100% “green” but I’ve drank about 48 oz of it this evening alone, so I’ve made up for that!
Preparation
Got this along wiht the peach blooming tea at Teavana. Delicious. Elegant. Flavorful.
The blooming teas (and all Teavana teas, really) are a bit on the pricey side. That said, I’ve found each serving of leaves yields multiple (5 or 6) servings per the steeping instructions. So it’s really worthwhile in the end. :)
Super surprised this doesn’t have a better rating. I LOVE this tea. I just started drinking loose teas and blooming teas. I’m HOOKED! This flavor is both aesthetically pleasing (I’m considering a glass mug or kettle to enjoy this more like they had at the store) and delicious.
I like a smooth tea with only subtle tastes of sweet (e.g., fruit). This hits the spot. I love it!
A good tea. A little too strong for me, and I’m a big oolong tea fan. To me, a good oolong tea goes down smoothly and has little after taste. This along is just a bit too much for me. May try blending it with another tea for a different effect.
Update: tonight I tried this as a blend with Teavana Youthberry. OMG – night and day to my review above. Blending it with this light fruity blend is delicioso!! So happy I found a way to enjoy my oolong. I did 1.5 tsp of each tea. Steeped at 190 for 3 minutes. Super good. For me, the Youthberry really took the edge off of the oolong. You gotta’ try this! Changed 66 to 93 based on the blending.
