I iced this, but I didn’t have enough ice to cool it all so it’s actually a little lukewarm. Ahh well, it’s delicious anyways.
I made it in this jug (http://www.teavana.com/tea-products/tea-makers-infusers/p/blue-infusion-tea-pitcher-large) which they erroneously list as being 1.9 litres. Umm. No. I used 1L hot tea, 1L cool water, and an ice cube tray of ice and it still wasn’t full. The strainer is nice, though, since it fits really well for a hot steep in a canning jar. I can then combine everything into the jug without steeping in the jug, mix, lid, and lay it on its side in the fridge if it’s room temperature or cooler. Pretty awesome, right? (PS. It’s a Takeya unit, with the Teavana name on the top.)
The tea is berry juice. It’s good on its own, or with a little sweetener. I’m almost out, too. Definitely something to restock when it gets warmer out!
(2 big tbsp tea, 1 litre hot water, 1 litre cool water, ice. Steeped 10 minutes at 195F.)

I have both the one quart and 2 quart takeya and the 2 quart fits in the bottom of the door of my fridge and nowhere else except on it’s side. I just made iced tea in it today. I don’t add ice to the pitcher, just to the glass when I pour it. Saves on space so I can make a full 2qt of tea. :)
I have a very small apartment size fridge. The pitcher only fits on its side! I also don’t have room for more than one tray of ice unless I play tetris with my freezer. :) I have a feeling I’ll use it more for cold-brewing, but it’s nice to have the option!
I cold brew so it’s cold beforehand and then the added ice to the cup keeps it so. Works well when I don’t screw up the tea. Which happens often. I am not gifted at iced tea.
I love this pitcher in the summer, when I can’t seem to get enough of iced tea!! I have the large one with the longer filter, it does fit well in the fidge door…
Haha. Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, TeaFairy. :) It does seal, and Takeya says you can leave it on its side! So far, so good.
If Teavana or DavidsTea are selling accessories like the “infuser” part, I will see about picking some up this summer. Iced tea lemonade is pretty much my favourite drink when it’s hot. :)

Oh, I know that feeling. :)

I’m so glad you found a way around the size! I’m impressed that it doesn’t leak.
Although it’s branded “Teavana”, it IS Takeya. Everything I’ve heard about their product has been rave reviews. :)
